Cirrus

The tiny hybrid had been distancing themselves from the group.

For many reasons, some of which had been brought to their abrupt attention when the family and part of The Seven had fled Pegasus due to a threat from Master Vargas.

Of course, the horse had made the choice to meddle in affairs not completely his business, at least in the hybrid's opinion. But that didn't mean that knowing the violet leviathan was around made them feel any calmer- in the contrary, they felt some fear at having to go back empty pawed. No progress would surely result in a fate worse than being forgotten, so, they set out to do something productive to think during.

Like digging that garden they've had in mind since they first flew with the horse, James. Since they were at their old den, Ep-Cirrus had collected a small hoard of seeds while eating and living here, so they set out to stick them in the dirt, add some water, and see what works.

For everyone else, honestly. As much as they've got their mission to take out a member of the Seven, they don't want to screw over the individuals- and it's not like some goodwill won't come in handy.

Cirrus has their front half in a small trench they're digging- small to others, but it's about as deep as their shoulders when they stand in it, and it's quite a comical sight to see wings being used as braces against the trench as they measure their digging, and hind legs pulling them slowly back half-step by half-step. Of course there's dirt flying over the piebald's shoulders and between it's legs, with the occasional stone set off to the side of the trench on one side, and any clay like muck set on the other.

Seems like they've got a game plan.

James missed Pegasus. No, not his son, but the cave. He missed soft grass beneath his hooves and food everywhere he looked. Now he lived in Orion where the constant grazing he needed to do to sustain his metabolism properly was practically impossible. But with the fruit trees grown from Aristotle and the grass he'd grown, it was slightly easier.

The stallion wandered, banished by his own urge to help someone out. It seemed that every time he tried to help someone, something went wrong.

He so happened to stumble upon the trench and by extension, Cirrus. His eyes slowly dragged upwards, amber flicking over everything going on with a muted curiosity before he shuffled his wings around his skinnier frame to hopefully hide what he could.

"Cirrus?", he asked, voice soft, "What are you doing here?"

Cirrus

They'd been so deep in their thoughts, and the trench which was... moving quite slowly in actuality. Their progress, I mean. That they don't hear James walk up until they hear their name-

"Yy-eEEP!" Cirrus squeaks and launches themselves out of the trench and forewords and up, since their wings had been braced. When they touch ground, they whip around to look at James, craning their neck up to gaze at the horse... absolutely covered in dirt from neck to forepaws, and a smudge on their face.

"Ah-hah, James, hi. I... came with you guys from Pegasus? Remember? I'm..." they gesture at the trench, and then a bit on one direction. "I have a sort of idea for growing food. If they take here... and we get water. It should work. Remember those seeds I collected? There aren't money but, uh, I'm going to plant them. Here. Next to the trench... which should hold water for them."

Well, that wasn't painfully awkward. Congrats Cirrus.

@James

James huffed in amusement, his expression softening. He walked next to Cirrus and examined all he'd done, ears perked forward.

"Well done," he said softly.

His long mane was pulled into multiple thin braids hanging down his neck, his tail so long that even braided, it dragged on the ground. He really ought to cut it, lest it get matted or he step on it.

"I have water at home," he said, "Comet summons it for me so I don't have to go all the way to Eridanus to get it. We could try to carry it back here, if you want. Though if you wait long enough it'll rain and fill this up and you won't have to worry."

He was grateful for something to do.
