Appearance
Abaddon is a hulk in short black fur, with dimly-glowing ruby red eyes that bear stubborn hostility in them. At first glance he's just a bull, albeit with mutated spines all over: jagged, uneven, and long, jutting out and back from his brows, neck, back and sides. His tail, too, bears thinner spines that can be torn free (albeit somewhat painfully) from the skin if impacted hard enough, serving as quills of a sort. These are all formed of the same hard keratinous material as his now-barbed horns.
This bull weighs somewhat over two thousand pounds and stands almost six feet high at his shoulders. This is nearly all muscle, visibly rippling beneath a satin black coat. A broad muzzle can often be seen flaring nostrils, and the large cloven hooves are sharp-tipped and strong. Abaddon is swift at a gallop, and highly-athletic, with long, forward-curved horns ending in sharp, darker tips. His movements are perhaps surprisingly graceful for his size, but his demeanor is generally both alert and aggressive: small gestures may be punctuated by a pawing at the floor or the irritable toss of a head. As large as he is, the red glow of his eyes is almost beady; the eyes compared to the rest of his head appear quite small. The bull's voice is deep and resonant, and if he so wishes, can provide a impressive singing bass. More often, it's busy emitting challenging bellows. Abaddon's gemstone is a rich red ruby, a brilliant blood hue, replacing the bottom of the left hind metatarsus, or the joint just above the hoof. This rough stone forms a jagged, outward-facing, two-pronged rough spike about four inches long and an inch thick per spike; while the bull is unlikely to land a sideways kick, a glancing blow may cause deep lacerations. Personality
Aggressive, violent, stubborn, vain, brave, protective, overprotective, arrogant, suspicious, selfish, dutiful, and possessive.
This bull is unlikely to befriend easily. While he will not, later on, go out of his way to start fights, his immediate first go-to response is to finish them. Anything from an attack to a minor insult to words that he does not understand (and thus perceives as snide) may result in a full-on aggressive charge. Abaddon's not unintelligent, but he is stubborn, refusing to admit when he's wrong and digging his heels in deeper, no matter how foolish it makes him look. He is vain; the worst possible insult is to ignore him, or his threats. While arrogant, he sees little point in boasting about himself--he just considers himself the most important. He is, in this regard, quite selfish. He assumes everyone else to be the same, and is thus a suspicious Gembound, expecting ulterior motives and finding empathy and gratitude difficult. When he does gain friends or allies, he appreciates them: but his fiercely-protective nature can rapidly become unhealthily overprotective, or even possessive, in the manner of a bull controlling his herd. Having friends may even cause him deep stress, as he will instinctively see it as his responsibility to look after their safety and well-being. He is not utterly fearless but he is brave, out of at least aggression if nothing else, and his temper can easily be used to provoke him into doing something stupid. Unfortunately, most of the bull's "good" traits are merely markers as to where he doesn't go too far: he is not sadistic, he does not actively seek to bully others and he is not a villain at heart. He simply goes about his life, and attempts to destroy anything that stands in his way. These traits may change with time and experiences. History
