They’re far more alien than their stone-giver, or most of their family for that matter. For one, they’re extremely tall, a whopping 6’9’’ fully grown. Purplish black skin is accented with the light pink glow of their inner flesh, which will brighten and dim along with their emotions. This same pink color can be found on their six eyes, and inner mouth, and a slightly duller shade colors their lichen-like hair. This hair grows in a mane-like fashion from their head, and also grows from the tip of their tail, just before the tip splits in two. Similarly colored plant-like structures- resembling moss or leaves or even vines- grow at random across their body. These are easily removed, but the sensation is not unlike having a strand of hair pulled out. Their skin is tough and surprisingly plant-like, turning into a thick bark-like structure on their hands and feet, tail tip, and horns. This bark can also be found on spikes along their arms, and branch-like formations along their ribs and spine. Internal organs, if ever visible, would be a startlingly bright pink, and soft, almost like leaves. Blood is a similar pink and sticky, almost like tree-sap. When they want to move quick, they move quick, having no problem with dropping to all fours for extra speed or agility. They don’t appear to emote ‘normally,’ instead communicating most emotion through their glow. Warmer pinks indicate positive emotions, while more purple pinks coincide with negative emotions. The glow will bright and dim with the intensity of the emotion, and given their nature for abrupt changes, it’s not uncommon for them to go dim to nearly blinding within a few heartbeats. Their gemstone is a blossom of selenite tucked just above their left ear. They are omnivorous, and have no qualms with eating nearly anything- though they’ll likely develop a preference for cooked food, given their family’s more civilized lifestyle. Personality
They are a blur, a flurry of movement and activity. They are hard to entertain, flitting from one interesting thing to another unless given a particular task- and even then they're prone to distraction. True interest is rare, but one of few times where they'll stick to the same activity for a prolonged period of time. They're also extremely social, and while they do often go off on their own, they're unlikely to stay on their own for more than an hour or so. In short, they're active, social, and loud, much like a songbird in some regards.
That is, except when they aren't. They are part tree-beast, and like a tree-beast, sometimes they feel the need to root themself. These are periods of true rest- sure they can eat and sleep ‘normally’ just like the rest of their family, but these periods are what truly sustains them. Absorbing nutrients from the earth and light, sleep and a daydream. This is also when they tend to do the most thinking- other times, they are much more of a ‘act before you think’ kind of gembound. It’s likely they’ll struggle to relate to those around them, being not-quite-elf yet not anywhere near a full tree-beast. They’ll certainly try, but there’s some things that will routinely confuse them. Titanite’s glacier-like pace, for one- doesn’t that get boring? Doing nothing all the time? Conversely, the rest of their family is also confusing- why do they sleep like the dead? Why don’t they glow, like it can? Why do their faces move so much? It’s full of questions, questions that it’ll likely pester it’s family with for it’s first couple cycles. History
