Appearance

Aerie isn’t the typical four-legged, winged dragon of myths and legends. At least not the ones of European lore. They don’t need wings to fly, thank you very much,

They’re of an ancient race, a dragon that flies by its own will rather than wings. They’re long, like a serpent, with a tail about as long as its neck and body, with four short limbs tipped with eagle-like talons, curved and sharp, with four fingers on each hand (both rear and front) and opposable thumbs. Their scales are big and cover most of their body, and their tail is tipped with a long growth of hair, pearly-white in color. They have a mane of soft hair along their spine, all the way from the top of their head to halfway down their tail, a soft, pale blue compared to the deep, rich navy-black of their body. They have two sets of ivory horns and a tufted white beard on their chin and jaw, with two white whiskers that stretch out past the rest in a wispy line. They’re extremely sensitive, and sense atmospheric pressure.

Their eyes are dark, with a golden ring around the iris, glowing in dim lighting, and their gem is a solid white pearl that sits within their chest where their heart would be, replacing the organ and allowing them to function as normal.

Fully grown, they’ll be approximately 17 feet from nose to tail.

Personality

Aerie is benevolent, though they’re very stern and serious. They don’t make friends willy-nilly, and those they do have, they’re extremely loyal to. They’re an extreme hoarder, collecting anything of interest, even if it’s flowers, fabrics, shiny objects, gold. If it’s of value to them in any way, they want it. Badly.

The serpent tends to wander, and can be found in Monoceros, Eridanus, Orion, Pisces, Canis, Pegasus, and Polaris. They follow whatever path they want, really.

They don’t tend to group up with any one faction, wandering from place to place, interacting with one group before moving on. They only consider where they hide their hoard home, and are very protective of it, even going so far as to hunt anyone who’s dared to steal their treasure down. At least ask!

However, they are very knowledgeable about a great many things, and are able to remember nearly everything they come across. How this particular plant grows, how fire works, how to build things just by looking at it. They’re extremely intelligent, though it does make it difficult to not state things bluntly. I mean, if you’re doing something wrong, they’ll tell you, even if it ends up offending you. Though, they’ll shrug and walk away, since you clearly don’t need their help.
