Appearance

Alan is a beautiful blue and black peacock pheasant. His tail is a grayish brown with bright blue eye spots while the feathers covering most of his body are black with blue accents. His face is a blend of black and white. His gem, which is located near his right eye, is of blue moonstone. It it a rim just below his eye and curves down on his cheek like a tear shape. He's got thin, scaly legs with sharp talons on the ends of his feet. He's got a magnificent blue-green crest sticking up from the top of his head. Like a peacock, he can extend his feathers into a beautiful array, which also causes his feathers to spread out, which makes them look a lot like diamond shaped scales. His voice is not low in the slightest, but it extremely silky and pleasant to listen to, although a little slow as well. When he walks, he tends to bob his head in rhythm with each step and sometimes he'll unconsciously bounce his tail a little bit. He's a little thin for his species when it comes to body mass, however, its easy to mistake considering how thick and luscious his feathers are. They are extremely soft to the touch and the tail feathers tickled a little bit.

Personality

Alan can almost be too selfless for his own good. There is not a single day where he is not thinking about the well-being of someone else. While sometimes pompous and elegant, he's extremely thoughtful of others and sensitive to their feelings. However, he's got a strange contrast of pride when it comes to other speaking to him. While he insists that he lives for others, he will still act extremely proud and can be annoyingly stubborn at times. He's also quite sensitive at times, scaring easily and quickly brought to anger and tears. However, he outwardly usually appears calm and mature.

When Alan first hatches, he will be quiet, preferring to express his feelings in action and expression rather then words. Once he finally starts using words, he still will not speak often and only quietly. He'll very rarely get pent up or excited. As he gets older, however, his personality starts to peak through and he begins to become more sensitive both to himself and to others. Along with this also develops his pride.

He will always carry with him a paternal instinct, even as a baby, that is strong enough to get him into real danger. For those that he chooses to love, which is almost everyone that is kind to him, he will do anything, even give his own life if necessary.
