She is, for a rabbit, on the lanky side: longer, larger ears, long limbs, built something like a small hare rather than a compact domestic creature. She is long and tall by nature, and even at rest gives off an impression of constant nervous motion: a bobbing nose, hare-wide stare, and flicking ears. Pale, blue-grey eyes have no real visible pupils, seeming to almost shine silver in some lights. Her weight varies from six to nine pounds, depending on how well she's been feeding herself. She often does forget to eat, or is too anxious to, and--though naturally already lean—will sometimes grow quite thin. When startled into flight she is remarkably fast, some thirty-five miles per hour in short bursts. And when she settles into hiding, she will fall entirely still. Her white coat, however--always kept pristinely, fastidiously groomed—is likely to give her away, unless she's hiding in the snow.

Her voice is melodic, almost sing-song, and pretty; she will often talk to herself, particularly after long stints alone, in a soft and rapid murmur. Her body language is generally tense, rarely if ever aggressive, and it'd be clear she is ready to bolt at a moment's notice. Ananke's gemstone is a perfect cube of clear rock, shot through with threads of white, nestled on her back—between and below her shoulderblades.

Ananke, as a drone of Order, does not bear any scent of her own whatsoever. This is a double-edged sword for a prey animal: it makes her impossible to track by scent, yet it can give her away to those few who know its meaning. Should this information become widespread, she may take to disguising her lack of odor with pleasant herbs or flowers.

Ananke is, beneath that false and brittle front, prey that knows she's prey. She's latched—with the desperation of a drowning rabbit—to Order's purpose so that she can imagine herself as something more than nature's lunchmeat. Beneath the preaching, unfalteringly certain face lies a hyper-reactivity to perceived danger; she started life always tense, easily-startled, and nervous, and this part of her can still break free. Worse still, where a natural rabbit's perception of danger ends at sharp sounds and sudden movement, Ananke as a Gembound is cursed with sentience, second-guessing her own words, actions, even thoughts, incessantly. Order has granted her an illusion of power, of control and leadership, of self-importance, and now her anxiety has been smothered by fanaticism. Paranoid selfconsciousness and self-doubt, devouring anxiety over her physical vulnerability, and a desperate desire to prove herself useful and helpful have all been willingly sublimated by an almost mad devotion to her new master. She is zealotry, incarnate.

A neurotic mindset has switched tracks readily to embrace the concepts of a universal struggle of Order versus Chaos, and her own grand role to play on the right side of this conflict. Mother needs her; she will be a guide and guardian, a leader and a hero, fighting the oppression of Chaos to save all its helpless victims. And this is the reality she clings to: for to ever even entertain a doubt would be to let that curtain slip, just a little, and let her terror of an unjust, unordered world come flooding right back in.

Should Ananke's blind confidence ever be challenged, she is likely to grow easily flustered. And Order's final, questionable gift has given her both an outlet for her neuroses and a compulsion: she must instill Order on the Chaotic. Though it isn't commonly known, Ananke will feel compelled, as a Drone, to arrange, neaten, clean, even count objects disarrayed. This can serve to delay or distract her, a stark weakness that she will refuse to acknowledge.
