Appearance
Anslem was a melanistic hare. They had pale grey eyes, set high on their head. Within, pure white irises laid. Their eyes seemed to glow slightly, especially within the dark. Their eyes were large, judging, yet devoid of emotion. Their pelage was thin on the face, pure black, thickening on the body and the bottoms of their feet and tail especially. They seemed a creature without color.
Monochrome from head to toe, light barely reflects from their matte black hair. In bright light, a slight a greyish-blue tone could've been seen. This hare was twenty eight inches long, leaning on the long side for a hare. Their ears were tall, wide, a 'v' shape that sticks out from the top of the head. The insides were light bluish grey, as if strangled of oxygen, and now, they are. Their head was boxy, with a nose that rarely twitched for a hare. Their back legs were strong. It was a creature built for high speed running. Their body was reminiscent of a black dog's. A barrel shaped body with strong limbs, though Anselm was thin for a hare. It was a runner. The hare was born a small leveret. A few inches long, but alert. They were strong, and prepared to run. Anselm was a graceful runner, if a odd walker. Anselm walked as if they have a limp, but it is merely the gait of a hare. Anselm's stone was a chunk of black tourmaline that cut through their face diagonally, slicing throught the upper skull, above the mandible, and beneath their eye on the other side. Personality
Anselm was prone to anxiety. The hare was constantly alert. They learned to look to those older for advice, and craved the approval of their elders. The hare came out the chrysalis eloquent, and yet their words were gibberish. Wolf speak. Speech hard to parse. Age only widened their vocabulary, to the benifits of none but themselves.
Their morals were subjective. Dependent on their superiors, those they craved approval from, and them only. It was all the approval Anselm needed. They may have considered themselves aged and without need of it, once, but upon the death of Kethri things changed. They sought to follow in her footsteps, and earn the approval of their deceased mother figure.
Anselm's anger was sudden and hard to detect. A squint of the eyes. A shift of a front foot. Anselm's anger was a cold thing freezing all it came into contact with. It was hard to predict, and reared its head without warning. Most of Anselm's emotions were equally hard to predict. Happiness was shown with the flick of an ear. Sadness, the squint of an eye. It required a keen eye to delve into Anselm's untruths. Anselm ended up forcing themselves to walk instead of hopping, in an effort to copy their parental figures. Anselm loved friendships. Especially with those in positions of power. Anselm desired to learn from them. Copy them. Leech their abilities. Ultimately, Anselm was once a child. One that grew and learned with their relationships. They ended up lonesome from their own free will. Their goal was to follow in Kethri's footsteps, and sadly they followed them into death too. Died in Hydra, cycle 100, during the The Trial of Hydra-Reclamation due to gas inhalation. All things considered, it was a swift and peaceful death for Hydra.
