Appearance

Apple is a typical Eurasian magpie, except that her eyes are deep blue. Her body is mostly black and white, and she looks fairly plain most of the time. However, when she opens her wings, the feathers are revealed to be a beautiful iridescent blue. The tips of her wing feathers are white with black outlines. She has a long tail that looks thin and straight, but fans out in flight and has the same iridescence of her wings. The blue is only visible when she's in flight. She has a short, black beak used for pecking and breaking things. Her gem, a sapphire, is a raw, rigid chunk just between her shoulder blades, near the back of her neck. This causes her weaker, less agile flight, as it makes her wings more stiff. While she can fly fast, it's harder to do so and she has less endurance then most of her species. However, she is quite adept at leaping into flight from standing and can hover in the air, but she cannot actively fly the length of the caves.

She can both walk or hop, but, since she spends most of her time on the ground, she prefers to walk. However, she finds hopping fun and might do it from time to time. She has a voice similar to real-life parrots, but with more clarity. However, she retains the speed and tone that they 'speak' with. She moves with surprising grace for a small bird and it quite balanced both on the ground and in trees. She has a little bob in her step, like a lot of birds; her head will come forward when she steps forward and her head will move back when she starts the next step. She flies fairly fast and is quite adept and leaping into the air. She can hover in the air, but she cannot actively fly the length of the caves.

Personality

Apple is quite bouncy and bubbly, usually quite happy with whatever situation she's in and pretty good at seeing the positive. She an optimist, an extrovert, and a friend to anyone that's not mean to her. She also likes to make others laugh and smile. To know that her words could bring forth a reaction of amusement and happiness is all she needs to be happy herself. She's talkative, friendly, and always open for conversation.

However, sometimes her jokes could get mean or scorning. She sucks at noticing social cues so she will never know if someone has gotten upset by her words until they've actually verbally pointed it out to her. But its all in good spirit. She doesn't have a will or a need to hurt anyone so she'll quickly apologize and hope they can move on.

With all the friendliness in the world, however, Apple has trouble creating deep connections. For her first few cycles, she will never share secrets or feelings with others, for fear that they will overwhelm her. She thinks that dealing with them herself is the best option. It's ironic, then, that she'll always listen to the troubles of others so that she can find a way to make them as happy as possible. She can never go by someone sad and leave them be. There's always something she has to do to help.
