Appearance
Ariah is practically the first thing that’d pop into your head when asked to imagine a canary- a small yellow bird that could fit perfectly in your hand. Slightly lighter mottling appears on his chest, wings, and tail. His legs and finch-shaped beak are a pale peach color. Contrasting all these light and bright colors are a pair of beady black eyes, and a stormy gemstone embedded in the front of the left wing. This Hawk’s Eye Gemstone is a dark blue-grey with a bright silvery stripe down the middle, much like a Tiger’s Eye. The gemstone is heavy enough to make flight difficult- though not impossible. But it will take Ariah growing into his gemstone plus plenty of training for flight to finally be possible.
Ariah seems to have his head in the clouds quite a bit. Quite literally, actually. Often his head is upturned towards the cave’s ceiling, looking for a sky blocked by hundreds of feet of stone. His voice is also delicate for someone who will grow into such… destructive aspirations. His voice often has a light, airy, almost sing-song quality. In fact, Ariah will often idly sing wordlessly to himself when very focused or when the don’t think anyone’s watching. Ariah's first few cycles fare slightly better than it may for other avian gembound, as he is no near-bald helpless thing. Downy bits of hatchling fluff poke from more mature looking feathers. Many of the feathers- particularly around the face- are pin feathers, giving him a raggedy appearance. His gemstone is also comparatively big compared to his wing, so his left wing often drags on the ground or lists to the side. Personality
For the most part he is your average child fresh out of the crystal- Kind, but naive and easily molded. Can be bratty and rude at times- but honestly, who isn’t? He will be a loud and rambunctious little chick, rarely quiet- whether it’s song or some rambling coming out of his mouth. He’s quite social- if he’s alone then most likely he’s searching for some new company. Ariah can be quite helpful but is nearly as likely to simply be spitefully annoying. He really is just some kid.
But one thing sets him apart. He has seen the sky. Ariah saw many things in that brief moment, actually, but the sky was what stuck with him the most. The impossible, endless vastness of it all. Some ancient urge calling him to it, like that was where he was supposed to be. And then it was gone. To say Ariah’s obsessed with the sky and surface would be apt- maybe even a bit of an understatement. He’ll take any excuse to talk about it, often trying to describe it to others or draw it. He even dreams about it, quite frequently in fact. Every day the thought in the back of his head gets just a little bit louder. ‘I am trapped. I must get free.’ It will be hard to ignore it for much longer, hmm? History

Memory Mirror - "Will show him his memory of the sky for as long as he holds a foot on the pad, but only Ariah can see this image. It is about 2.5 inches in diameter and made of a frosted, black metallic material with a gold etching; though the rune means nothing to Ariah, it reads: Forever."
