Appearance

Aspen is covered nose to tail tip in thick fur, except for his nose and gem. The amber is in an oval shape, and located on his forehead. If one were to draw a line connecting the tip of Aspen's left ear with the outermost corner of his right eye, and another line connecting the tip of his right ear with the outermost corner of his left eye, it would make an X with his gem at the point of intersection. The amber itself is a brilliant fiery orange.

The fur on Aspen's throat, chest, and underbelly is a pure snowy white. The rest of it is creamy tan, dotted with rosettes outlined in black that begin small at his head and gradually become larger as they spread down his back, flanks, and tail. The strands are long and fluffy, designed to keep him warm in subzero temperatures. His stocky body and small ears help minimize heat loss; his paws are broad and have fur, which helps them distribute weight, and keep warm when walking on snow. His strong legs enable him to leap great heights and distances, and his tail lets him keep his balance. His eyes are an icy blue.

As a cub, Aspen will be much smaller than his adult self, but he will grow rapidly. By his third cycle, he will still be smaller and less strong, but while the difference is noticeable he will be a powerful, capable hunter and jumper nevertheless. By his fourth cycle, he will reach his adult size and become even more formidable.

Personality

REWRITING! Energetic: Like most young Gembounds, Aspen is a very energetic creature. He loves jumping around, playing, chasing random things, and is easily distracted. He is always eager to play, though he may get too rough sometimes. Aspen is curious, always wanting to learn and explore new things. Cave rabbits make him really really hyper, for some reason. But he thinks they're cute, so he doesn't eat them often. Actually, he finds a lot of things cute, including most prey.

Loves arguing: Aspen is stubborn and loves arguing. He will even argue about things he doesn't actually care about if he feels like it. Most of the time, he just does it for fun, although it's nearly impossible to change his mind about something he believes in without a long, hard, argument.

On eating: Although he prefers to hunt Lesser Gembounds because they're easier to catch and more convenient most of the time, until someone can convince him otherwise Aspen will consider eating Greater Gembounds. Friends and whom he considers to be family are off the menu, of course, as are any Gembounds he's had a conversation with beyond "don't eat me". And any Gembound that they care about, whether Greater or Lesser, are off limits as well.

Friendly: Although he can be unintentionally rude and has no idea how to speak formally or comfort someone, Aspen would love to be friends with you! Unless you're mean to him. Or unless you're mean to someone he likes.

Wants to be a hero: Aspen wants to be a hero when he grows up. Helping people gives him a warm fuzzy feeling.
