Appearance

There is hardly anything remarkable about this old King— not the pallid finery of his feathers nor the stark contrast of broad wings and a falsely-shielded chest; not the two-toned sharpness of keenly hazy eyes, all crimson and sallow; not the bluntness of claws amid well-feathered and flocked trousers; not the cabochon of smooth red jasper set just above the base of his tail. Aza'zel is ordinary in every facet of appearance, even on the occasions that he adopts a more rufous orange plumage. He's not even overly large or small for his species, presenting a perfectly average wingspan of somewhere in the range of ten feet from tip to tip.

Personality

Rising from the ashes and boasting none of the fiery spark of a phoenix he could be compared to, Aza'zel is—... a worn individual. Even the newness-scent of a chrysalis clinging to his buff-white feathers could not diminish such a thing. Though his head is oft held high with the trained regard of a King, there's still yet a heavy weight upon his shoulders; and that weight is only exacerbated by heavy memories and the seven entire years gone missed and recovered only through hearsay.

Though, he tries to remain passively optimistic, helpful; gracious, even. Consideration for other people always falls at the core of his motives and all that he has ever done and ever will do. What ever ill befalls those he's subconsciously sworn himself to must have been his fault, his failings, his trappings of sorrow and guilt—

It's difficult, breaking that old habit.
