Appearance

A demon of the dark, brutish and powerful, a monstrous, intimidating predator. He stands at around 8 feet tall, reaching from foot to shoulder. Standing on two burly legs, powerful enough for strong leaps and fast sprinting, ending with massive, vaguely wolf-like paws, tipped with cruel black talons. Four limbs sprout from his broad torso, extremely muscular, with dextrous hand-like paws and black talons as long as those on his feet. His head, shaped like a bull, but sterner, more angled, with far too many horns sprouting from his forehead and the back of his skull. One pair curves up, another down. Two smaller pairs in the back facing backwards and out. They are the same dark purple almost black as his claws and teeth. His muzzle is a light color of fur, like that of his chest, and so long are his canines that they jut out beneath his top lip.

A dark mane starts from his head and goes all the way down his back, to his wolf-like tail, longer and thicker fur then the rest of his body. From his shoulders sprout two, absolutely massive bat-like wings, with a span of over 20 feet. They allow for limited flight, but his enormous mass makes takeoffs difficult - it is easier to glide then it is to fly. From his chest rumbles a powerful, deep, dark voice, rough, but somehow smooth. Endearing and elegant but brutish all the same.

In the center of his chest is a perfectly smooth dragon’s breath opal, seemingly glowing from within. Cracks spiral off from the gem - although it is not a part of the opal, the same strange glow seems to emanate from them, giving them the appearance of depth and that there is something within his skin, despite the cracks being simply cosmetic. His eyes also reflect this color, put he has no dark pupils - only a crack of white breaking up the reds and purples. He has six eyes in total - one on each side of his head and one in each of his palms, protected by a thick layer of translucent skin so that they are not harmed.

He is an omnivore in every sense of the word. Able to eat and digest almost anything organic, from meat to plants to sometimes even bones, although the latter may not be the most nutritious. He is still affected by things commonly poisonous to other creatures, like certain mushrooms and berries, but he has few limits when it comes to apetite.

Personality

He is a simple-minded creature of simple thoughts and desires. He doesn't concern himself with complicated questions or situations nor does he goes out of his way to interact with others. He generally keeps to himself and deals with his own business in peace. It's not that he dislikes the company of others, he simply appreciates his own time and space and doesn't see the use in wasting the energy seeking out conversations or companionship. Companionship, however, often seems to find him, as those that he comes to care for, however difficult it is to see that he does care, become his wards. He will fight and die for family and can adopt some very basic forms of affection.

It isn't exactly easy to form this sort of connective bond with him, however - his trust is still broken after his experience as one of Mother's hosts, but he seems to find it easier to trust in those that are small, young, or defenseless. He'll act like a father to them - perhaps a stern, distant father - but those under his care will eventually come to recognize his unique form of love. Sharing his home and his food, going out of his way to help and care for them, and, most importantly, sharing his heart and talking to them as an equal are all signs that Azrael trusts someone wholeheartedly. Few have ever been able to experience this affection from the demon and he's not shy about admitting it - after all, Azrael hates liars and will never be dishonest, especially about the ones he cares about.

Despite his sometimes over the top behavior and monstrous appearance, Azrael is actually fairly mild-mannered. He's not extremely friendly, but he doesn't show open hostility unless he's provoked. He treats others with respect, as long as they show him that same respect. He usually won't do what others' ask of him, a stubborn pride telling him that only he can tell him what to do. He may follow directions in some situations, but only if it's something he wanted to do anyways and if he makes it look like it was his idea all along.

One of Azrael's most noticeable traits is that he's loud. While most of the time fairly aloof, if he feels he's being ignored or if he wants to make his presence known, he'll certainly let everyone in the room know that he's there. He's extremely proud of his own abilities and sees himself above everyone else around him. Any hint, whether intended or not, that he might not be of the standings of everyone else he'll take as a personal insult and he won't stop until he prove that he is the strongest. He's dramatic, over the top, and finds a carnal joy in being as extra as possible, especially in regards to using magic, seeing it as a display of his dominance.

When Azrael is insulted or otherwise provoked, his anger is terrible and ferocious. He can become extremely violent and persistent, crushing anyone in his way. He may spare a thought for those he feels close to - family, friends, and the like - but should their offense be too high, he has no qualms with ripping apart relationships in his desire for justice and dominance. It's hard to reason with him when he's beyond a certain point, easily consumed by his own rage, and, when he's cooled down enough to think, will never apologize for his actions, even if he was in the wrong. His confidence is iron-clad and his will powerful. He is certainly a force to be reckoned with.

Prideful - He is stubborn and independent. He will never ask for help, nor will he put himself under others' command. He puts himself above everyone else and any attempts to lower his status or insinuate that he isn't as powerful or as perfect as he believes will be met with fire and darkness.

Furious - He has a burning wrath within his heart. It is far too easy to make him angry or even completely lose control. Things that get in his way, try to push him back, he will destroy without mercy. His fury is terrifying to behold, transforming from a fairly distant, closed off creature to a feral animal of pure rage, destroying without thought and burning everything in his path.

Lustful - There is a unique joy in seeing those with him in their blood. To see his body or his stone within others is an indescribable delight. He also takes a great amount of pleasure in being loud and over the top, finding nothing but a carnal bliss when going above and beyond and proving himself powerful and not someone to trifle with.

Gluttonous - He is always hungry. He is always eating. He hunts constantly, ravenously devouring his prey. He is never full, only sated for a time.

Avaricious - He wants many things. The desire to collect and hoard and keep for himself will grow stronger and stronger as time goes on. Material and magical will all be his.

Lazy - There is no point in going out of his way to socialize or discover new things. He reacts to what comes to him and doesn't make an effort to help or hinder. He enjoys times of rest as much as he enjoys his rage and theatrics.

Envious - He wants many things - power, possession, friendship...to see others with the things he does not have is frustrating. Should he see someone with something he wants, he will work to get it, either take it from them or gain it himself.
