Appearance

This hybrid has the build of a bear with long, shaggy golden fur. A partial mane rides up his back and flops over his face. His legs are marked with brown, and cream washes his underside and toes. His eyes are blue and his stone is a black ring of obsidian around his long lion tail.

Baroque, as a child, was a big, pudgy thing. Filled to the brim with baby fat, this cub is a chubby chub. As soon as he hatches, he will already have a bit of coarse brown hair sticking up messily on the top of his head, but it will take a while to grow out into something more manageable. Those old enough to remember his round baby face likely haven't forgotten it, though a lot has changed.

One thing he will never grow out of is his large, baby blue eyes.

Where Baroque would have once only stared at the ground too insecure to even lift his eyes to another, he now stands tall and holds even the most intimidating gembound's eye. As an adult, he is as big as his father is and full of muscle. He stands at a powerful four feet at the shoulder, larger than the average grizzly but built a bit more lean toward the body structure of a lion. His limbs grew to match his massive paws, and if anything he looks like a lion in the chest with bear extremities, a grizzly face and powerful claws (they cannot retract) all aside from the sweeping tail.

Personality

Baroque is a soft-hearted fool.

Ever since he was a child, Baro has been the poster child of crybabies everywhere. While he has grown out of crying at the drop of a hat, he still wears his heart on his sleeve to this day. He cares deeply for the caves and those around him, and though he is not a naturally brave soul, his compassion and want to do good tend to push him to bravery more often than one would expect from the timid, gentle giant.

He is prone to believing in the best of people, and would not know what to do with a grudge if he had one. As a result, he is fairly easy to manipulate, but he also has a good sense of right and wrong, and refuses to do anything against his morals, even at great cost. He is easily stressed out, and as a momma's boy who grew up quite close to his littermates, he does find himself missing his family on the regular. He is on a hairtrigger of grief at any given moment as a result, and sometimes will seem to break down for no reason. There is reason, of course, but he finds it difficult to explain to those that have no sense of what a family is, or why his was so important.
