Appearance

Basil is a very slender thing, especially when young. Weighing at five pounds, less than foot tall and with paws that are much too big for him, he's just about as big as a kitten at the moment. He has a very expressive face, with his thin black muzzle and large ears and bright black eyes that contrast with his pale yellowish coat. He has dark stripes that run across his back and down his legs that speckle his little feet. His fluffy mane runs from the back of his ears, down his spine, and to his tail, and he looks remarkably similar to a tiny hyena.

Eventually when he grows up, he'll be about as big as a young wolf, always slightly smaller than most of his Origin kin, but he'll never let that bother him.

Personality

Basil is a very expressive young man, always cheerful and optimistic, never quick to judge, and incredibly amiable, but once a creature that vaguely resembles a female enters the room, all mental capabilities for seriousness are utterly lost. Immediately he'll have eyes for none other than her, rushing to her to wax poetic nonsense incredibly fluently, for he has a gift with words even from a young age. It doesn't matter who it is, what it is, or even if they hate him, he always falls instantly and amorously for any girl, wanting to do anything for her. It's almost embarrassing to watch.

Once they leave the room, however, he falls out of their spell, and goes about his business with a clear and level head, wondering if he has some sort of head tumor when a girl is around. When he's free to think, he will be trying out his magic, thinking himself a wonderful and powerful caster, able to move and interact with things that others can't touch. He won't let this inflate his ego, though, for he only wants to be skilled at using it, nothing more.

His fascinations are women(much to his personal regret), his magic, and his friends.

As he grows older, he'll grow incredibly skilled in his flirtations, but by then, everyone will have grown used to his tricks.

This is who he should've been. Happy go lucky, confident, powerful in his magic, good with words. But his curse for falling for women has taken over his life, putting him in embarrassing situations at best, and at worst, life threatening ones. He is afraid to meet with anyone, for every single encounter he's had with new gems has ended badly because of his curse. He has no time to practice his magic because he always has to run and hide, and he has no friends.

He is a broken gem that should've been great.
