Appearance

Bones is, and always has been, fairly scrawny. Even by standards of his species, he seems fairly underweight-- his legs are stick thin and knobbly and his ribs stick out of his chest under his fur. This doesn't seem to concern him in the slightest.

His patchy black, white and tan fur is relatively thick and kept quite clean, regularly washed either with some water or by grooming himself daily-- however, there will always be the faint scent of carrion and dog-breath that clings to him. The particularly observant will find mangled scars on the back of Bones' legs and burnt skin and fur on his back that looks akin to candlewax.

It does not take a particularly observant someone to realise that when Bones walks, his scarred legs prevent him from moving very well. He can't go very far, he can barely run, and he can't stand on all fours for very long. This, however, doesn't seem to get him down either.

His gem is not visible-- which could either lead some to believe that he doesn't have one, or that it's just internal. Which it is. The blue topaz replaces one of his lungs, though hopefully, no one will ever find that out for sure.

Bones can often be found in his den in Canis, eating or painting or just lazing around. All things considered, he seems quite friendly and approachable like his other canine cousins.

Personality

Bones is, first and foremost, dog-like. He is friendly and approachable, often appreciating the company of others and is usually up for conversation. He is not, however, particularly loud or abrasive. Bones is particularly quiet and soft-spoken, he prefers to listen to others speak and he likes to hear the opinions of others rather than voicing his own thoughts.

He is, in that regard, fully capable of being something of a leader. He is quick and clever, but he takes the time to think things out fully before rushing into a situation. He is, however, very much a pack animal-- he looks out for his own and he can often take orders on his own as well as being inclined to giving them.

After recieving damage to his legs-- although after two years it's finally beginning to heal --he became a little less confident in himself. He went from a creature who enjoyed running and hunting to something that winces at the very thought of having to travel too far. Bones now, instead, prefers to spend his time in Canis painting with the blood of rats and other dead things that dwell within the caves.

Occasionally, he can seem very quiet and distant. He appears to try to hide this in favour for a more friendly personality, or perhaps he is just afraid that someone might worry about him if they saw something beneath the surface.

History

INVENTORY:

Bones' den lies within an alcove in the west wall of Canis. It can be found either by following the scent of dog or by locating a large elephant skull just outside it, which has been decorated crudely with blood that has long dried in.
His den is lined with an assortment of soft things; scraps of fur, leaves that came from somewhere outside Canis, and old worn blankets likely found somewhere along tunnel J. There are small paintings done in blood that line the walls of his home. They feature a large bird, a four-legged hunched creature, a small squirrel-like creature and a massive canine with three heads. Within, you could find:

BONES' BONE:
A femur bone that Bones often carries around with him. It's unknown what creature it came from, or how old it is, but it seems to be some prized possession of his. It rarely leaves his side.

RUBY GEM:
Not coming from any particular gembound, this ruby gem was given to Bones by a lion who created it while showing off to him in Orion. Bones has kept it ever since.
