Appearance

For the most part, Cap'n is black, with some hints of brown here and there. Underneath his fur, his skin is ash-grey. His adult form is absolutely massive, nearly 3 meters long and 2 meters tall (according to Britannica, anyway). His horns--also massive, at nearly 2 meters long--curve back in twin crescents above his ears. His splayed hooves and several flexible joints allow him to wade through mud more comfortably, though maybe that's not a good idea in Hydra no matter how evolution has prepared you.

His gem, a meat-like chunk of rhodochrosite, sticks out near his shoulder and is rather oddly shaped. Almost like... a very muscular arm? It is 'flexed': it sprouts from his flesh almost straight right, but curves at a right angle so that the 'fist' (a rather fingerless, blobby fist) points upward. At hatching, it is more proportionate to his size, and he may find it awkward to move around with it. Once he is fully grown, though, the 'arm' becomes almost comically small compared to himself.

Personality

ARRRRR, ME HEARTIES!

Boisterously friendly to anyone he's not pirating from, Captain's goodwill is earned easily enough. Kindness is a rare treat in Hydra, with its harsh environment, sparse population, and dangerous animals, and Captain has a long memory. This can go both ways--he is incredibly loyal and devoted to whoever or whatever he cares about, but he holds deep-seated grudges. He won't forgive someone just because a friend did, either, even if the friend was the one who was actually wronged.

HOIST ME FLAG! HYDRA'S ME HOME, AND I WON'T BE ABANDONING SHIP!

Captain is ambitious. Having hatched in Hydra, he will become attached to it, and start seeing it as his one and only home. Hydra is his, and he is Hydra's. He could never give it up. No other room can compare, but perhaps it could use a few... improvements. Irrigation and agriculture would be a nice start. TECHNOLOGY!!! It will make Hydra even more beautiful.

However, he is not ignorant of the fact that Hydra is a harsh place to live. He's going to need help--a lot of it--and he won't hesitate to leave Hydra to search for allies or resources that his project requires. But no matter how far he goes, he will always return.

Is he materialistic? Or does he simply collect things in a place where you need all the useful things you can get? Captain doesn't think too much about morals. He just does what he does, whether that involves robbing any hapless travelers or not. There will be absolutely no stealing from his 'crew', though. If they've worked together, then everyone's getting their fair share of plunder.
