Appearance

Carja is 20 feet long from nose tip to tail with a 35 foot wingspan and stands at 5 feet at the shoulder. She is not the biggest dragon in the caves, but she doesn’t need to be. She makes up for her size with sheer enthusiasm and magical prowess.

Previously she was completely grey with darker feet and horns, with dark grey spikes lining her spike from the crown of her skull to the mid-length of her tail. Now she is entirely black and decorated in a lovely galaxy pattern with purples and blues splattered all over. White stars speckle her scales and the only remnants of her previous color is a grey stripe on her nose and the delicate membranes of her wings, tail fin, and the webbing under her armpits.

Her eyes and the vents along her neck are some of her more prominent features, as they glow a brilliant cyan. Her nostrils glow too due to her blue blood, and if she were to raise her scales (a way to emote, like a bird’s feathers fluffing up) her skin would be blue too. She has six vents down her neck, three on either side and six eyes as well. A main pair for general forward sight that have the greatest sight, akin to an eagle’s with how sharp they are, as well as two more above and below them towards the back of her head to allow her to see above, below, and behind her. These eyes aren’t as good as the main pair, but they are about as keen as a human with 20/20 vision, so not the worst. Her vents are used for heating purposes. When closed they help her retain heat in colder environments or underwater, but when they open they release steam to cool her off quickly if she is too hot. When she breathes fire it allows her to avoid incinerating herself, and her throat is lined with a thick mucus and reinforced with tough flesh and thick muscle to allow her to not only eat her prey whole, but to breathe fire without harming herself. Breathing ice works similarly, as the mucus prevents her from freezing her throat up.

Post-mutation she has gained a few more traits. She has fins on her head, along the sides of the base of her tail, and underneath her tail along her pelvis. This allows her to swim much easier by using her tail as a rudder and a propeller, and with her webbed paws she can swim easily and for long distances. She also has gills and can breathe underwater without issue. These gills are located behind her jaw.

Personality

Carja is a very kind, loving individual. While she can be fierce to her enemies and hates bullies, she loves with all her heart and protects those she cares about. A dragon’s loyalty is hard-won but immensely valuable in the long run.

She is a lot like your typical western dragon. Protects her hoard fiercely, breathes fire, and is rather greedy. But instead of gold and precious metals (which she does collect, just not as much), she has a collection of people and things that are significant to her. A meadow deer skull she gathered from a fierce and hard-earned hunt, as well as the pelt of it. Various shells and crystals she gathered from Leo, and things she associates with the people she loves the most. She keeps her hoard close and doesn’t like when people touch her things.

Her element is ice (technically water) but she delves into both ice and fire, breathing jets of flame and spikes of ice in the span of a few seconds. Her abilities are vast and fierce and she is incredibly skilled at magic, practicing whenever she can and honing her abilities during hunts and quests. While she never expects to have to fight seriously anytime soon, she can’t ever be too prepared.
