Appearance

As a young hatchling, Catalyst will look rather alien. The vast majority of her length will be taken up by a large, very oversized head. And most of the real estate of that, will be her large, wide, reptillian golden eyes. The pupil, much like a snake's or a cat's, is slitted. She will be very small, the size of the average house cat, weighing in at ten pounds. From the tip of her large head, to the tip of her tail, she will only be thirty inches in length, and will stand at under a foot at her shoulder. Her skin will be a dull brown color, helping her blend into the dirt. Her gem replaces the middle-most talon on her right foot. Her inner-most talons are nine-point-five inch sickle claws.

Catalyst will grow very large, over octupling in size. At her shoulder, she will stand over six feet in height, and from the tip of her nose to her hindquarters she will measure sixteen feet. With her tail counted into that, she will easily reach over twenty-five feet. She will have large, digitigrade feet, with dangerous talons on the end, and odd-looking, skinny arms with three fingers, each tipped by sharp talons. Her skin will have become more of a dull grey, with a texture and appearance similar to a crocodiles. She will have a whip-like tail, which becomes thinner the further it goes from her body. Now she is more evenly sized, with a long torso and long neck. Her eyes will no longer take up the majority of her face, sitting under heavily defined eyebrow ridges. Her mouth is serpentine, reaching below her eyes, and her ears are just holes, and one has to look hard to see them.

Personality

As a Hatchling, Catalyst won't have much of a personality to speak of. She will have the thoughts of a snake, of a cold-blooded reptile. All of her thoughts will be on survival. On eating, and fighting, and hunting, and surviving. She will be incapable of speech, instead communicating in a mixture of squeaks, and chirps, and screams, and what can be kindly referred to as a roar, or a squawk. Like many reptiles, or birds for that matter, she will imprint on the first few Gembounds she comes into contact with, following them without caring how they react. She will look to them for guidance, on how to hunt, and survive, and find water.

Her personality when she is grown up relies heavily on the Gembounds she meets as a child. No matter what, she will be able to speak, although a large amount of her vocalizations will still be chirps. Her roar can no longer be called a squawk, now being a loud, thundering sound worthy of a top level predator. If she imprints on a fearful Gembound, she will be easily frightened, with a tendency to run. However, no matter what, she will never be truly evil, or cruel, learning the error of her ways after seeing the consequences of her actions.
