Appearance

As a youth, they are roughly five (5) feet long, weighing in at just seventy (70) pounds. Their body is along and snake-like, bulking out around the ribs to support large, flat front limbs. Each limb has three digits with hooked claws at the end, webbed and shaped not unlike a paddle for a canoe. Their face is wedge-shaped, with a jaw that can gape at seventy degrees, appearing small and dainty when closed- twin fangs poke out in a slight overbite. Their eyes are huge, and unique, in that the pupil forms three darker spots instead of just one. Pale blue and pink mix together in an incoherent blend of colors. Above each eye is a crest of flexible keratin, fins supported by fatty tissue in pale and darker blue, leading to curved ridged horns above ear sockets which face backwards from the skull. Spines stick out of the skin along the spine from nose to tail-fin, sharp and curved and all different lengths, with the longest near their torso. Their tail fin is shaped like a whale's, wide and curved and powerful.

As an adult, fully grown, They've grown to be a massive forty (40) feet long and weighs in at just about thirty (30) tonnes. Those sleek scales are now hardened, ridged and patterned with stripes of darker blue to match their horns, leading down their arms and tail, like tabby point markings. Those horns have curled downward, and a ridge along the jawline has formed, blunt protrusions of the same keratin that makes up those horns and claws. Their spines, now longer and more noticeable, are striped with lighter teal and pink, and now glow with magic use and extreme emotions. The overbite is more noticeable, with many teeth protruding from the upper jaw over the bottom lip. Eyes are still huge, but more oval shaped than before. The pupil inside has fused together and now resembles thorns off a vine, ringed with blue and pink. While they are still able to be out of the water, on land, and move fairly well, their body is much better suited for water, and can still move elegantly beneath its surface.

Their stone is a oval shaped swirl of opalescent Pearl. It sits in the cleft of the roof of their mouth and remains the same scale throughout their lifetime, growing in size as they do.

Quirky points of interest;
Their tongue is wide and forked at the tip, much like a certain dragon from that one movie about vikings we know and love so much.

They are a visual hunter and rely on vision above all else when navigating the world around them.

They have excellent night vision naturally, and can see clearly through the water, but has trouble seeing great distances on land.

Vocalizations include (but are not limited to) rumbling, groans, clicks, squeals and whistling. Think a cross between a dolphin and a whale. As a pup, they also bark and growl much like a dog might. Able to mimic some sounds like a bird might, but not as accurately.

Does not speak or understand the common tongue.
Speaks and understands the Sea Language best.

Personality

Cerulean / Kreool are split personalities, sharing one mind and body. In the early stages, they knew nothing of each other, sharing no memories and taking turns hosting their body at random intervals- generally switching to match the situation subconsciously. Later on, as they aged, they became aware of each other and with help from passive arcane use, are able to share memories with little effort- and even communicate with each other via thought when the other is in control.

In recent cycles, Kreool has been buried deep and Cerulean is in full control. Whether the softer, gentler side of this sea-beast will ever return is up to fate.

Kreool (Female)

Kreool is a fun-loving, adventurous sort. She takes delight in games and exploring, inventing new words in her own sea language, or just meeting new friends and spending time together. A simple, light-hearted soul, with few negative traits to speak of- her only issue being abandonment, and her irrational fear of such things. She prefers the water to land. Childish and enthusiastic, Kreool is the lighter side to the Leviathan.

Kreool was once fun-loving, adventurous and a general delight to be around. Time has changed her. She is timid, reluctant and soft-spoken. She'd sooner hide away than risk being hurt- again. She's become submissive and docile, and obeys her alter-ego without question, lest she yet again destroy what they hold most dear together.

Kreool appears to be gone entirely these days.

Cerulean (Male)

Cerulean is a more stoic creature, preferring the land to the water despite his limited mobility. He is a serious, determined character, with a strong sense of morals and few fears. He doesn't like to show off, or play games. He doesn't care for exploring. He does, however, enjoy telling and hearing stories and the company of most land-bound. He's more patient than Kreool and more willing to sit through conversation in length.

And Cerulean has become the mind. Ever planning. Listening. Observant and calculating, he has become self-serving, at times perhaps, even cruel. He has made himself known to Kreool, and together they openly communicate and share control. Make no mistake, however- Cerulean's in charge. Kreool is just his anchor now, one last link to kindness, to hope, to humanity- because without her influence, the leviathan would have long ago become a carnal beast. In defiance to this, Cerulean allows Kreool control of the body, and instead acts as the mind, thinking, calculating, actively guiding his female counterpart to do his bidding according to some elaborate plan that perhaps even he doesn't know the details of.

His mind has snapped. Cerulean has taken full control and he has become savage. Cannibalistic, he does not differentiate between lesser and greater gembound, seeing (and tasting) no difference besides the annoying sounds all land creatures make. Where once his alter-ego had understood the language of the land-walkers, Cerulean has forgotten it entirely and shows zero interest in relearning such trivial things. Why would he want to speak with his prey? Only those who share his domain and show him respect are worthy of his words or interest.

He's become especially partial to things without fur or feathers to cough up later, tends to avoid obvious hybrids (the ones that don't make any sense to look at, anyway) due to uncomfortable interactions with them in the past and prefers the company of like-minded feral sea-beasts over anyone trying to persuade him to flounce about like lambs on the surface. Heck to that.

Kreool is Lawful Good.

Kreool is afraid of abandonment.

It manifests in Kreool's irrational fear of causing others harm or neglect; Cerulean's Maladaptive Perfectionism; Cerulean's over-thought planning; Kreool's co-dependence; Their shared habit of repeating sentences, words, phrases or numbers; Cerulean's compulsive need to repeat someone's words if they're important to him; Kreool's Anxiety and Hypersensitivity.

History

Kreool hatches during Cycle 7 in Polaris Cave and meets Arrh.

Kreool and Arrh travel to Pisces, where Kreool meets Iipsi (Calypso Bevy) and Eeya, members of Maji Walezi. She decides to stay in Pisces' lagoon, with her new friends.

Eeya teaches Kreool to hunt- and the little blue begins to settle down mentally. Cerulean makes his first appearance around this time, though he's not yet mentioned by name.

Kreool and Arrh spend time exploring the depths of the lagoon together, collecting treasures and storing them away for safe keeping.

Everyone's disappearing. Everyone's gone. The waters are empty. Quiet. Where did they go? We must've scared them off.

We're never alone, though.
