Appearance

An alien creature just over eight feet tall at the top of the skull. It is extremely agile and quick, able to climb, leap and turn on a dime. The light build renders it less suited to prolonged engagements, but the razor-sharp scythes that form its forelimbs make it deadly for quick strikes. Flexible claws at the end of the forelimbs, above the scythes, allow for climbing and walking on all fours, if needed.

The creature is somewhat insectoid at first glance, and appears to be made of metal. While organic, it is true that the exoskeleton is quite metallic, at least insofar as ingested minerals reinforce the exoskeletal plating. Chromite is primarily carnivorous, but can eat almost anything, including plant matter (which are far less nutritious for it) and minerals. It can and will graze on dirt and pebbles, and the powerful mandibles will chew and crack rocks. Minerals are digested and utilized in its armor. Chromite is also capable of producing an adhesive saliva, which dries to a powerful glue. This is primarily used to attach found objects (scrap metal and the like) to its own body as additional armor pieces.

Black, ropy muscles (reminiscent of cables) and the occasional dangling, black fibers reinforce a synthetic appearance, particularly where the natural internal glow (a bright, light blue) show through in speckles, gaps in the ribcage, or the eyes. This light is a bioluminescence, intended to alert allies to its location. Chromite can dim these at will, "going dark" for a hunt.

Personality

While much of Chromite's personality will be determined through its life experience and its training, it begins as a dutifully obedient, efficient creature. It is very quiet, and when it does speak, its voice is often garbled and its words nonsensical. However, it will attempt to follow orders faithfully (even to its own detriment), performing much like a Drone rather than a creature of Chaos.
