Appearance

Because I want to see the way the skin splits round his bones

This creature can be described with one simple word: a monster.

It is absolutely massive, twelve feet long and four feet high at whatever may pass for a shoulder fully grown. It's posture is that of a humanoid crawling on it's knees, or dragging it's legs behind itself. It's meant to be bipedal, but the mass of stray, mangled limbs and meaty tendrils makes it nearly impossible for it to stand upright, much less walk while upright.

It has three sets of 'main' limbs, A set of arms, a set of legs, and a set of wings. It's arms are massive, bulky things, with hands that have too many taloned fingers. It can grab and manipulate things, but it is far from delicate. It's wings are large and bat-like, often with small tears on the wing's membranes. Fully grown, it is far too heavy to fly, so these are mainly used as another set of arms to help it drag itself along. Finally, are it's legs. These would look like normal legs with boar-like hooves, if the hooves didn't attempt to continue nearly halfway up the leg, studding them with large keratin 'spikes.' These are stronger than most of it's 'secondary' limbs, but the weakest out of it's primary limbs.

It's 'secondary' limbs are often clawed arms or tattered wings, but may also be hooves legs, tentacle, or tail ending in a sharp bone spade. These grow mostly around it's waist, but may grow on it's back and chest as well. These extra limbs can be used to grab at or attack things, but often get in the way of movement.

It's head resembles a boars, maybe, if you squint and turn your head a bit. It's main set of jaws splits it's head diagonally, like someone didn't quite screw it's head on right. This set of jaws is full of teeth, so full of teeth that they couldn't all quite fit, so extra teeth grow on the outside of it's jaws, a few stragglers even going as far down as it's neck. A few extra malformed sets of jaws are place on the sides of it's face and even underside of it's 'main' head. Most of these can't talk, and some can't even move.

It's head and main set of arms are spattered with eyes with no real rhyme or reason. They're mostly shades of green or pink, but some are pale enough to appear off-white. Some of these have round pupils, while other have horizontal, goat-like pupils and others have no pupils at all.

It's flesh has the raw-meat sort of look it's lifegiver's has, lacking but a thin layer of skin. It does, however, have a somewhat-sparse coat of bristly fur in moldy shades of brown and yellow. This coat of fur is completely absent on it's face and many of it's limbs. It's also covered in a layer of mucus, as dark and as thick as drying blood.

As a child, it is far less monstrous. Some may even go so far as to call it cute. All but it's main limbs are shrunken to the point of near uselessness, and it's arms are somewhat less bulky and more proportional to the rest of it. It is capable of standing fully upright, and even flying short distances. Tendrils of stray flesh still grow from it's waist and back, but these are a fair bit shorter and less intrusive. As a newly hatched child, it stands at three feet tall.

It's gemstone is a chunk of sickly green jasper, jutting from the left side of it's jaw. It would blend in with the rest of the stray teeth if not for it's color.

It is mainly carnivorous. It can eat plant matter, but this is not an efficient food source with it and it cannot survive entirely off of plants.

Creosote is a monster, and they are very aware of this unfortunate fact.

Their body isn't how it should be. They know this because it wasn't like this. Didn't have so many limbs, dragging them down with their dead weight, grabbing at rocks or walls or whatever else it can reach in an effort just to move. Too many limbs, wings and claws and hooves all in the wrong places.

And the hunger, oh the hunger. Sometimes they feels so hollow they feel like they may cave in at any moment, like a burrow dug into unstable ground. And only sated for such a fleetingly short amount of time. A short moment of respite before the hunt must begin anew. They can only hope it won't run out of thoughtless prey.

Creosote is a monster, and it is very proud of this.

It was in Its parent's nature, wasn't it? And like Parent like spawn, as they always say! It's in it's nature, in its blood. To eat. To hunger. To hunt is to breathe, to live! Such is the nature of life, to eat or be eaten. It's prey are fated to find their end eventually, the least it can do is make it a swift one.

And how lucky it is, so have so many tools which to hunt with! Teeth and claws and hooves and wings! So many limbs of which it can use to tear and snare and grab and eat! It may not fly, or walk like how it used to, but it will continue. It will thrive, and that is all that truly matters.
