Appearance

Deadnettle, even as a child, is large and heavy for his species, with an incredibly thick, pale grey wrinkly skin. He has two horns, almost three, on the end of his nose that, in youth, are disproportionate and a little too heavy, making his head dip low when he's not focusing, giving the idea that he nods often to what he doesn't actually agree to. Despite the name of his species, his skin color has no distinction from a normal rhino.

When born, he will stand at two feet tall, weighing almost 150, and when/if he gets to adult hood, he will reach six feet in height and weigh close to 1600 pounds of pure muscle.

Nettle has dull sunken black eyes, making him look incredibly serious, and because his head always hangs low, he always looks up at anyone he speaks to, giving an air of challenge. But he doesn't mean it, honest.

His tail, for some reason unbeknownst to him, was created wrong in his chrysalis. In formation, something had crashed down onto his shell, making his tail broken from the start, along with permanent dents in the bones of his hips. It is a source of constant dull pain for him, and he walks with a slight limp. He swallows the pain, though, allowing no one but his sister to know.

Personality

Deadnettle is a rather simple creature. Listen to his sister, protect who he needs to protect, follow orders, and fight when necessary. He would do anything for his sister, go anywhere for her, and would die for her. He trusts anything she says without question. He care little for anyone else, and if he hurts them in protecting his sister, then they were simply in the way. They're fault. Whoops.

Nettle thinks that every other gem that is smaller than him and not his sister as something to pity. They don't have the raw strength that he does, the ability to rip up the earth with his horns, the capacity to run straight through a wall and crush it to pebbles. How sad that creatures had to be born smaller than his leg! He pities them, but has no desire to create friendships with such little things, half because he has no idea how, half because he doesn't want to accidentally squish them. But if they get in his sister's way...

Nettle doesn't have the capacity to lie, and always speaks in very simple sentences, deeming long and drawn out conversations a waste of time. Whatever can be said in as few words or less, that's what he goes for. But if his sister goes on a happy spiel, he will always listen with one ear pricked, content to be there for her.

He takes pride in his ability to use his magic, and even if he is a creature of few words, he will always show his happiness for a good cast in very subtle ways, as he's not very expressive. His sister always seems to know, though, being the more empathetic of the two.
