Appearance

OH, TAKE YOUR TIME, DON'T LIVE TOO FAST

Derby, as a fawn, looks like a much smaller version of a Tunnel Runner child. Little fangs will poke from his mouth in a way so adorable that even Lesser Gembound deer coo at him. His eyes are wondrously dark orbs, colored a deep chocolate shade. He'll stand only half a foot tall, with quite long legs and cute little cloven hooves. No wonder why the cowboy likes petting him!

Colored a rich mocha color as his base, he'll be rather simple in appearance. With banded hairs, he'll also have white and dark chocolate colors in his base pelt, creating a very salt-and-pepper look. He pulls it off quite well, if I say so myself. The undersides of the deer are painted white with chocolate bands, as well as each slender limb being dipped in the color. His face will have a cute little chin bit that's colored white as well. His stone will be hidden until he grows larger and it protrudes through his skin. It will be a shimmering banded Hyperthene gem, a small (rounded off) spike sticking out of the apex of his neck.

When the little fawn grows up, he'll find himself standing about 55 centimeters tall at his shoulders, or around one foot and ten inches. Weighing in at a hefty little 37 pounds, he'll be a pretty big fella. Of course, Tunnel Runners will stand above him, but he could easily pass as a dwarf version of them without the spots.

ALIGNMENT [ LAWFUL ADORKABLE ]

[ INQUISITIVE && INTELLIGENT ] - Derby stands out amongst his Tunnel Runner peers by showing a great apitude to discover things and understand language. Of course, he usually communicates via the sounds that his adoptive kin make, but he is capable of grasping and comprehending actual language, and communicating. He just chooses not to show it, for the sake of blending in. Of course, when hatching, he'll soon discover that he gets fed treats and gets to play a lot with the cowboy! He loves to learn and perform tricks and recieve praise as a smart little cave deer. Now... someday he'll pipe up and surprise everyone with the fact that he isn't just a Tunnel Runner that's smaller—and smarter!— than the rest of them.

[ PRIMITIVE && ANIMALISTIC] - With basically being raised as if he were a Lesser Gembound, Derby's a little primitive and animalistic. He knows little of casting spells and rarely will do so, and likely never give a stone or breathe life into one. He often communicates through how normal musk deer do, usually through squeaking, braying, or other noises. He also finds amazement in other's stones glowing or pretty glowing rocks.

[ ESCAPE ARTIST && OBSERVANT ] - He's literally an escape artist. Derby will always find some way to get out of a pen and venture towards a particularly interesting rock or object. He'll observe it and stare at it for hours, prodding at it with a hoof or lick it with his own tongue. Derby's always a loyal little guy and will always come back when his name is called by the cowboy or ranchers!
