Appearance

Edric starts out small. A frail, pudgy piglet, only ten inches tall. Short limbs set on a stocky, small body. Their young hair will be a tan all over, interspersed with streaks and spots of pale white on their sides. A line of black sits in the midst of their spine, a marker of the mane to come. Their stone takes the form of a piece of ~~grey veined~~ dark, oily marble, replacing the forearm.

It lends a limp to the gembound's gait, as they cannot fully move that limb. Edric possesses mildly unnerving eyes, even at such a young age. They have pure white pupils, rimmed by a red iris and black sclera. Their nose is the only part of them dark at this stage of infancy, nearly hairless.

And it will stay dark in full growth. A splattering of even darker spots will eventually grow there. The streak of black hair will have expanded and lengthened into a mowhawk that peaks above their head, and dips just before the back legs, before rising again before the tail starts. They start to darken fast, their hair becoming duller around the second month. Their leg will not grow with them all the way to full growth. It will always be shorter. Their hobble will worsen to a full on limp.

Their eyes will become rheumy and reddish around the front from tear stains. The hair upon them will be black, clumped together in oily strands and glinting blue in the light. Their skin is visible beneath the hair, nearly as dark as their fur. A dorsal marking of lighter brown goes from their neck to the base of the tail. They posses a twin pair of tusks, one from the bottom jaw and one from the top. They will peek out from the jaw, deeply yellowed but smaller than most boars. Edric will stand at 37 inches at the withers at full growth, be five feet long, and solidly built, around 295lbs. FOR REF

Personality

Edric is more boar-like in personality than anything. It is a creature of instinct social-wise. While normally males are solitary, when forced to live with others it demands dominance. He pushes others buttons to see if they will break; life is a constant game of intimidation for the boar. It is not prideful, despite this. It is quick to learn when another is superior to it, or if it meets its match. Edric will bow quickly in these situations, leaving some to believe it is cowardly.

As a piglet these emotions are dulled. It can live easier with other gembound, though it may pick fights with other their own size. Edric has a serious demeanor. You will rarely, if ever, find the boar telling jokes. It does not have a mind for such things. Its sense of humor is simply and petty, finding enjoyment in slapstick humor. It is curious and cocky as a child, fearing nothing. Age and experience will weather this into simple confidence.

It is abrasive as a young piglet, but as it grows it will learn to use its words to its advantage. It will never be scheming or intelligent, but it can charm. Or, at least, try to. They can put together and execute short term plans, though this doesn't mean their plans are either good, or intelligent. Long term thinking is not, and will never be a strength for the boar. Survival and strength are more important. Their voice is a deep, scratchy baritone.
