Appearance

A good, basic summary for this strange little hybrid's appearance is sky puppy. Contrary to popular belief, though, Eli isn't exactly flight capable. His wings are too small to provide adequate lift without the aid of magic, and are best used for gliding. Additionally, he lacks the hollow bones that allows birds to be so graceful. Besides the undersized wings, this Gembound possesses quite a bit of fluff: a mustache grows from his orange-and-gold eyes and trails down his mouth; dark tufts crown the tips of his large ears; an extremely plush tail lies curled once over his back. His coat resembles the soft fur of a dog, with some harder guard hairs. By dog breeding standards, his markings and colors are considered to be sesame. Somehow, Eli manages to keep all that hair groomed with the help of his tongue, which is dog-like in shape, but rough like a cat's. Fully grown, he will stand about two feet tall and weigh seventy pounds.

Eli's gem is a round, flat piece of clear achroite and is located in the middle of his tongue. One can actually see through that portion of his tongue like a window.

Personality

The air around Eli is fun-loving, carefree, and even.. a tad bit distracted. It seems as though nothing can hold his attention for long. He is, for lack of a better term, a free spirit through and through. He can be utterly reckless and immature, but can be quite clever and loving. Eli's biggest strength, besides his untamable spirit, his is undying loyalty to friends and family. He may easily get under their skin with his happy-go-lucky nature, and impulsiveness, but Eli will have their backs when the going gets tough.

Like his element, Eli's mind is sharp and swift like the wind. With the heart of a diplomat of sorts, and the tongue of a used gem salesman, he has a way with words. Though not a compulsive liar, Eli could probably convince most that the cave rats were actually cave spiders or the ground was actually the ceiling if he really put his mind to it. However, he'd rather use his tongue to make friends and play harmless pranks. Sometimes, he can be rather selfish when his own personal freedom is involved. Eli does not like to be tighed down. His commitment issues will always be an obstacle for him to over come, whether it be family matters, settling down with a mate, or being tethered to the Bonebound. Regardless of the matter, Eli strives to the right thing, whether it be for himself, or for others.
