Appearance
Well, this one's strange, and it's barely even a hybrid.
The first thing one notices when they see this seemingly alien creature is the myriad of limbs she has: two arms, four legs, and two tails. Elyon is a centaur of sorts, half alien and half... alien. Her face is draconic in nature with no visible ears. Beneath bright eyes lies a beard passed unconditionally down in the Vita lineage. Her gemstone a perfectly diamond-shaped yellow orthclase hidden within the oft-rufous mane around her neck. All over, though, she is built of powerful muscle and thick chitin. Her body is well-armored save for important joints, which are made of an elastic, rubbery substance to preserve dexterity and speed. Unlike her arms, her legs and twin tails are fleshy and supple, fully mobile in any needed direction. Hoof-like claws and retractable thumb claws are somewhat flexible, yet hard and capable of climbing across any terrain with ease. Her arms are thicky-armored and rather inflexible save for at the elbows, shoulders, and wrists. As gravity dictates, Elyon is slightly front-heavy, but manages to stay somewhat well-balanced thanks to her wide stance and tails. Said tails are lined across the bottom with a stringy mixture of quills and fur, which is often dyed a rufous red and lines the edges of some of her chitinous plating. Elyon is physiologically an oddity, too. On the flanks of her upper body, hidden beneath some softer plating, lie four pairs of gills that may be used at any time. This set of gills is attached directly to her first set of lungs, which lies within her upper body. Her second set of lungs lies in her lower body, fueled by breathing through her mouth and nostrils proper. If injured, the hybrid's blood doesn't particularly bleed, but rather has coppery blood just slosh out from the body. This is due to her heart being located exclusively in her upper body and requiring an extremely high blood pressure to cycle blood around without any proper veins. Her digestive system is very large and composes about sixty percent of her lower body. A crop dominates the system, capable of holding large amounts of food. The gizzard and powerful digestive fluids in the midgut renders food --- including bones --- down to basically nothing. In essence, Elyon could eat basically anything she wanted to. Her body is further, but minorly, reinforced by small, hollow bones such as a skull, spine, and ribcage; this aids in preventing the breaking of legs from running on dry land, but does nothing to affect shear forces and their effects. Of course, she does not have a complete skeleton. Similarly to many non-mammalian creatures, she molts as she grows up. Fully grown, she will stand about seven feet tall at her withers and nine feet at her shoulders. Her final weight will be similar to a normal horse's, about one thousand five hundred pounds. Even at her full size, Elyon may molt as needed to regrow any lost limbs, which she may be prone to if her exoskeleton is broken and her bones are severed from their joints. Of course, she needs a little help and security from her own stone; she must retreat into her chrysalis in order to successfully molt and regrow lost limbs. Personality
Like father like daughter, Elyon's most noticeable characteristic is that she has the tongue of a sailor. Who knows where she picks up her colorful repertoire of insults, though, because Eythan isn't that creative. Many swears are just used like punctuation, though, and she means no ill by them.
She's wary of those she doesn't know quite yet, and is not overly trusting at first. The centaur will easily hold conversation with complete strangers, but tends to withhold any details about herself directly or her family. As she warms up to and trusts others, though, Elyon behaves completely differently. She is kind and benevolent, willing to protect her friends and family with her life. Any woes that are vented to her are quickly reassured in her own brutish way, often with threats to suplex bad vibes; she's big and strong and fully aware of that fact. Her behavior as a friend is rather similar to a big brother's --- full of noogies, teasing, and quipping. She is always careful to stay within the boundaries, but Elyon loves to drive people up the wall. In all seriousness, though, Elyon is calculating and ruthless when she needs to be. She's always raring for a fight, though. The hybrid dreams of the day she can arm wrestle someone, but Origin Caves aren't doing too well in the functional hands and arms department. History
