Appearance

As a young calf Enka’s fur is of a soft muddy brown. As she ages her coat will naturally become a tawnier brown though a dark stripe of nearly black remains along her side. Her belly, draping down her wirier legs and creeping up flank is a soft white matched by her rump with its flock of loose skin and fur that is occasionally seen lifted as she prances. This is only interrupted by the flock of dark fur tipping her tail. Most striking of all is her face. Dark walnut colored eyes shine brightly from an almost completely white face except for dark marks from her tear ducts down the length of her face to below her mouth. Her nature white mask is surrounded by the sandy brown and crowns her forehead. As she grows two deep brown, nearly black horns will blossom, twisting away and then towards each other as the cycles pass. At her 2nd cycle, they will be just tiny numbs, not becoming fully grown until her 4th cycle. What appears to be a third horn rests at the center of her forehead but unlike the others, this was formed while still in her stony egg. It too twists first away and then back towards her. Where it differs is in color. The horn is of a milky light grey but inside with a strange meshwork of green that appears almost like moss, the namesake of the moss agate stone she was bestowed with. ---- Before Enka had been a simple springbok with nothing particularly noteworthy in her appearance other than her species. Then, in her tenth cycle, she had nearly lost everything. Like a plant returning out of hibernation she appeared again though not the same as before. Her milky green agate horn still twisted out from the center of her forehead, between and just below the two ridged peaks of brown antlers. Her eyes shimmer a soft brown but more mature and with less of her naïve sparkle. Her colors, too, remain similar; a sandy brown streaked along her sides with muddy brown, accented by cream along her face, down her neck and belly, and flowing down her legs to her brown cloven hooves. The similarities of her past self end there, however. Long flowing fur crowns her head just past horns and ears to circle around her neck in a protective mane. The long fur picks up again between her shoulder blades, running along the loose skin fold her of rump and down her now thin but elongated tail. Under her chin and her ankles are also accented by the long dark brown fur. The other noticeable difference is a series of protective dark brown scales that run along her nose bridge to forehead, her shoulder blades, and flanks in a shimmering green that matches her stone.

Personality

Being an herbivore, Enka has never had to steal another’s life to support her own. As such, her world view is that of an idealist pacifist. Logically she understands that carnivores exist and that they must have meat to live, but it’s a foreign concept that’s hard to understand. She finds it understandable but unnerving at the same time due to basic prey instinct. Stoic in an ancient sense, she finds joy in small life pleasures. This is especially true for anything plant related and it’s not uncommon to see Enka pronking in joy at a new field discovered in the caverns. To her, nature gives a sense of tranquility as well as reassurance to her prey nature. As such she is drawn almost unconsciously to its presence even when not requiring sustenance. Enka is easily contented and easily fascinated, though she often expresses it quietly unless it’s nature derived. With others she is often a bit subdued, wanting and contemplating what to say though of a friendly nature. Life, and those who treat it, are greeted as though already acquaintances. Her naivety that the world is sometimes dark and cruel is a great weakness though one that she, to a degree, cherishes and protects. --- After both nearly falling to suffocation by the flames of an Eridanus fire and the fall of her family and herself by the murderous Blood Berries, Enka is not nearly as naive as she once was. Her eyes still sparkle and she still tries to see the best in others, but she now recognizes that there is terror and evil in the world. At times visions from her nightmarish terror still haunt her. She is also left with some doubt in her ability to protect those close to her. Perhaps in time she will refind her strength?

History

Cycle 1 After hatching for her chrysalis, she is soon found by a strange cougar named Rift. He aids her in discovering much of Eridanus as well as her own magical talents. Finding that they both share an affinity for flora magic, he becomes a mentor and helps care for her in her early time. She also briefly discovers the neighboring cavern of Polaris which quickly becomes her second favorite place in Origin.

Cycle 2 During one of her adventures into Polaris, Enka discovers a tentacle snake named Khes. She immediately befriends the creature and explains to her what little she knows. The two end up journeying together to Eridanus so that the springbok can show her new friend her home.

Cycle 3 A new friend is discovered in the form of a deer named Karma. The deer is initially skittish but soon becomes as bouncy as Enka is. The two discover a strange singing crystal and work hard to get it loose. It was in this cycle that Enka travels to Polaris and discovers a strange hybrid named Bremen and his Bazaar. An agreement is made that she would help him grow flowers to decorate the exterior of his shop in return for some of the baubled gems. The two form a sort of partnership in sharing knowledge and experiences. The idea of having a place of her own is also planted in her head at this time.

Cycle 4 Enka delivers her singing crystal to a strange centaur like creature known as Jupiter. In return, the ability to have her own gemstone sing is granted. Much of this cycle is spent getting use to being an adult, including the newly grown antlers decorating her head.

Cycle 5 Enka sets off in search of the perfect location for start up a majestic garden.
