Appearance

This creature is a massive amalgam of elf and worm, the majority of its body composed of a long, long tail. It measures, from head to tip, at nearly twenty feet, though its proportions of its humanoid upper half resembles that of someone who would be around six feet tall. When standing casually, it rests at about six or seven feet, thanks to its tail that it can rest upon. It may stretch up to nine feet comfortably- past that, it starts to lose its balance.

Coating its dark skin are ice-like plates, chitinous growths laced with calcium to grant them strength. Rubbing the wrong way will reveal thousands of bristles that lay flat against its scales. These bristles only begin on its worm part- otherwise, its humanoid half is primarily smooth. Its white hair is fluffy, and its dark skin is only primarily visible on its palms and face. The latter is framed by a helmet-like pattern, horns encompassing its jaw and hair. Each of these plates, bristles, and horns, are slowly yet constantly growing, rubbing off as Erebos moves or when too damaged.

Its gem replaces a heart-shaped scale, laid over the crook of its neck. It's hard diamond and angular. The clavicles' scales slide over it easily, while the gem itself moves over the scales underneath it.

Innards are stretched and hardy from its worm parentage. While it is capable of ingesting substrate, it receives no nutrients from it, being a strict carnivore. Its mouth is rowed with tiny shark-like teeth, angled back to help devour its prey. Jagged and wicked, these instruments could cause harm if someone managed to get bit- granted, if they weren't already compressed by Erebos's winding tail or lacerated by its bristles or claws.

As it's grown, a fight with a beast has earned it a mangled eye, the entire side of its face scarred over and disfigured. It hides behind a wooden mask, with its good left eye visible to perceive the world. Rarely does it ever take off its mask, if only to eat or bite.

Personality

Erebos will be born of the wild, an untamed creature looking to survive. It takes after both of its parents, in that regard- while it may be feral and savage like a beast, it has the intelligence of its father, calculating and gauging results before taking action.

It will, initially, be unreceptive to the concept of a family. Why rely on others when it can make it on its own? It isn't one to show compassion, nor will it show much sympathy unless taught to do so. Even at a young age, it will be quite adamant about its ways- though, it may find itself reluctantly remaining around the Elenya family due to the connections made and opportunities presented.

It may, eventually, enjoy covering its face with masks, given that it's the only desperately vulnerable part of it other than its palms. Defense and practicality is its goal; if something's not necessary, Erebos will most likely forgo it. It desires to learn how to fight, how to stalk and to hunt, to live by itself.

In rare moments of calm, Erebos will often curl about itself, enjoying darkness or burrowing into substrate. It may find something to cover itself before it sleeps- if it doesn't tear whatever it finds with its bristles.
