Appearance

strong - graceful - swift

Fireheart is a wolf with a snow-white coat, long and slender (but strong) legs, and a lean, heavy body. At thirty-two inches at the shoulder and a little over one hundred pounds, he's typical for a wolf in size, a little small perhaps for his subspecies. That solemn body language, as if the wolf always bears some sense of responsibility for the world around him, will shape his movements. A long, bushy tail, a slender pointed muzzle, rounded thickly-furred ears, and large and spreading paws round out the "average wolf" appearance.

His voice is notable: deep, a poetic lilt to it without any taint of rasp or roughness. It is smooth, a singer's voice, and indeed the wolf may sometimes break into song: a strange echo of his ancestors' howls. In motion he is graceful and powerful, precise with his movements and steps, with a conservation of movement and a distinct elegance to each small, purposeful shift.

His gemstone is nestled into the fur of his chest, rounded and smooth. It is a glittering Clinohumite that catches and refracts even dim light: so reflective that it often seems to glow with its own inner fire. His eyes match this, though they do truly glow, his irises a flaming spectacle of yellow and orange both.

Personality

fierce - loyal - intelligent - strong

The wolf encompasses opposites, like the very fire he embraces, sometimes to the point of hypocrisy. A fire might provide warmth for life, but sear it away; likewise Fireheart is incredibly loyal, even protective, of those he meets. He seems to have deemed himself a bodyguard, of sorts, a hero wandering the caves, though he wouldn't call himself such; yet in a fight he is astonishingly fierce, giving no quarter and attacking head-on without holding back: the very picture of destruction.

He is both solemnly serious, and surprisingly playful. Though he wanders the caves with that sense of responsibility guiding him, wishing to make an impact on the world around him and change it for the better (and with an obvious intelligence), he will sometimes slip into mischievious moods where he can play the trickster. it is as though he takes everything remarkably seriously, yet holds nothing sacred.

Finally, he will bear himself with some authority, advising others to responsibility, moderation and caution--yet will fling himself headlong into combat or danger when he finds it necessary. That being said, all Fireheart's varied moods and choice of actions are not at all random: he has a strong sense of morals, justice, and good, and will always guide himself by their light.

History

Fireheart proved himself a powerful mage and guardian, in the end: blazing bright he fought the darkness itself in the third Trial of Hydra. He did his best to save as many lives as he could, with the giraffe Ifrit his final rescue, and one of the end-survivors of the Trial. Fireheart was lost to flame, ensuring his body was taken by that--and not the shadows.
