Appearance

If you've seen a jackal, you've seen Fleas. She looks the typical jackal- long legged, slim, but rather pale, almost greyish for a jackal. A fuzzy canine with wide eyes. Nor does she stand out, size-wise. She's an exceptionally average 17 inches at the shoulder, and 19 lbs. Not particularly large or small for a jackal. She carries subtle asymmetry and differences, the kind you'd see after sitting and sharing coffee with this dog. One eye is the normal brown, and the other is a pale off-white. And there's another thing about her eyes. They seem massive.

Her skin wraps tightly around her head, giving her a constantly wide-eyed, nervous look. And her ears are lopsided if you look close enough. One is slightly larger than the other, always weighed down by the slight difference in weight. Her gem is lopsided, too. Half of her nose is sardonyx, strangely not effecting her sense of smell. A snaggletooth canine sticks out one side of her face, and more often than not so does her tongue.

Her strange appearance doesn't stop at the face, however. She is jittery and flighty, shaking and constantly whipping her head about, as if expecting something to come for her at any moment. Fleas has mutated, granting the jackal thumbs on her forepaws, a pair of leathery wings, and a long, eyehook like tail (extending her normal tail to grow like a bald RAT past its usual furred end), and beneath her skin, nearly unnoticable, are tiny porcupine-like quills, able to detach and embed within any who literally rub her the wrong way.

Personality

Fleas has bad luck. It's rather obvious. And, eventually, she'll notice it too. For the first few cycles of her life, she'll be blissfully ignorant of the fate that, well, fate has in store for her. She'll have the typical child-like wonder and bluntness if children. And their ignorance to danger. Especially that.

Eventually, as she grows older, she'll realized something. She's destined to constantly be at risk for her life. Not to mention, most everything in the caves wants to kill her. She'll approach the caves with nervous caution, and life with a jaded outlook.

Unflinching, and used to the two hundred ways to die in the caves. Even potential deaths will be approached with a tired 'shit, not again', outlook. All of this is subject to change, based on how her life molds her. Another of Fleas notable traits Fleas are her mannerisms. She has a quick, slinking gait, always trying to stay just out of view. She tends to freeze up at danger, and stare blankly. This carries over to conversations that confuse or leave her mind blank. She also tends to scratch at herself when stressed. She'll turn to scratch at her neck, or bite at her flank, as if trying to rid herself of fleas that don't exist. Over time, she'll most definitely develop bald patches in spots, giving the impression that she has mange, or some other hair-loss disease.

History

Minor Glitch. Pigment may disappear from areas of the Gembound. Will affect dye. She will find her paws--from toes to pads--have lost all pigment, turning fur white and skin a very pale pink. She has socks.
