Appearance

One of the largest creatures to be seen in the caves Gaia stands at a massive 11 feet tall and will weigh almost 13,000 lbs. She is covered with pale gray-ish brown skin that almost looks like parched, cracked earth. She has a pair of huge, flat ears on the sides of her head that are easily waved around, keeping her cool or used to express emotion. Standing on four, burly, thick legs almost like tree trunks, she's not one to easily topple over. While her size and weight does make her quite slow on any normal occasion, she can run surprisingly fast for her size when she needs to, but she'll always be considerably slower then the rest of the gembounds in the caves.

As she grows older, she will develop a pair of ivory tusks that point straight out from her head and curl inwards. In the middle of her trunk, right between these tusks, is where her gem is located. It is in the shape of the rune of strength and is a beautiful array of orange and deep blues, and blacks. It is rough to the touch, but very hard and sturdy. The gem will grow as she grows, proportionate to the size of her body.

Personality

A protective, social creature, Gaia is not one for wandering alone. By herself, she is easy to succumb to laziness and uselessness with little to motivate her on. With others, however, she is usually quiet, but much more motivated. There's more to life with others, more things to do and to see. She finds little enjoyment in life alone, but with others its much easier to enjoy the simplest things.

Gaia has a huge issue with speaking - she has very little filter and will always deliver speech exactly how it is. No sugar coating, no room for proper manners or lies. She isn't against lying, especially in others, but she simply is not capable of lying herself, nor does she deem it necessary. When it comes to manners, she is quite bad at presenting herself in 'proper' fashion. She is who she is and she struggles to understand why she should ever show herself as anyone but who she is.

A hardy creature, Gaia is one that is hard to bend, fitting for a creature of her size and weight. Her opinion and word are hers and they are final. Hard to change, hard to understand, but she is still open for internal decisions. However, once she reaches that finality, no power in the caves can change her mind. She can become agitated or frustrated if anyone continues to attempt to sway her and may lash out if continued attempts are made. She's not a huge fan of violence, but if it is necessary, she is a powerful fighter. Aggressive and headstrong, she will not take loss as an answer. She can become bitter at defeats or wrong choices and will internalize the frustration. She won't ever blame others for her mistakes, but instead beat herself up for it.
