Appearance
Galleon’s body, as per the size chart i threw her on, is 20 ft long, and the tail is 10 feet long. Her body is 5 feet in height, making her rather short. The fin, however, extends 8 feet into the sky. As a child, she will be five feet long, and rather thick. She is a foot and a half tall, and rather like a large, chubby, shark shaped goldfish.
She is tan, with dark markings striping her body. Topside, she is covered in large, flat scutes, that are smooth to the touch. Excluding the ones on the outermost side of her. The big scutes on the side are actually hollow air jets, connected to sacs of air within the stomach that inflate with air. Same with the bottom bit on the sail fin, and the top bit of the tail. Air is expelled on all sides of the body, to liquify the sand, and make swimming through it easier. The nostrils are large and positioned on top of the skull, with a small shield to protect from debris. Her preferred method of hunting is by the surface, with her fin raised and nostrils exposed so she can constantly expel air and go as fast as needed. The teeth are bone sheets, like a dunkleosteus, and are constantly worn down by the sand. They grow like a rodent and she sharpens them regularly. The mouth is airtight, the jaw muscle on the outside covered by a thick layer of skin, and the tongue is merged with the bottom jaw. The bright red sail is for thermoregulation during rest, and aids in digestion as well. It can be lowered at will so that Galleon can cut through the sand easier. Small pits on the mouth and lateral line, and the limbs sense vibrations. Galleon can dig through loose soil as well, but with much less speed. Her claws are strong, but stone is strictly off limits for her. When needed, she can crawl on top of the sand, and through other caves, but she is even more awkward than in soil. Galleon takes to water slightly better, and has the tools to hold her breath, but the armor and her sheer weight slows her down substantially. Her fins are actually limbs, with long claws and are armored for digging. Her underbelly is soft. Galleon can go a couple months without eating like snakes, but in Origin for balance sake it’ll be limited to a cycle or so, and only at full growth. Fate has lead Galleon down a different path. A life raised safe from Hydra has made the shark boisterous and confident. She is trusting and easy going, enjoying the company of most gembound. She would be rather easy to trick; her openness and trusting nature have left her wide open in that regard. Galleon is has become rather sedentary in nature, preferring to live her life in a few select caves with deep enough sand to support her.
Her curiosity does overwhelm her desire to stay in the sand. And with the assistance of last legs, she is able to travel easier when caves or their goings on catch her interest. Galleon is still rather awkward in emotional situations, or expressing her own emotions. She most often is physical when expressing strong emotions such as sadness or anger, lashing out at nearby debris. A life without Hydra, without the need to struggle and fight her meals to the death have left her with a battle-lust. She revels in combat and spars when she can, though she remains aware enough to be gentle with creatures smaller or less able than her.
And when they don't immediately try to kill her, she is suspicious. Clearly saving a backstab for a later date. It doesnt take long for this shell to be cracked. When a new ally has proven her worldview to not be the case, Galleon will flounder. She is rather open, once her shell is cracked open. other gembound, but considering her social interaction most days is zero to none, what she says will be blunt and tactless. Upon making a new friend or ally, Galleon will silently follow them around without pause. She is content to simply shadow them, until they express discontent. She has an odd, rather toddler-like habit of swallowing any object she expresses curiosity in. Excluding gembound. If she finds a new object she finds interesting, Galleon will poke at it for a bit, before swallowing it. She has issues with indigestion. History
