Appearance

For a Peregrine Falcon, Gea is rather large. From the crown of her head to the end of her longest tail feather, she stands twenty four inches, or two feet, in length. Her wings match her large stature, spanning fifty inches from tip to tip. Her weight matches this, being a heavy three and a half pounds. She is definitely not 'feminine', with a fairly strong, and broad, build. Her Gemstone is placed front and center, in the middle of her breastbone. It gleams with an inner light, being an almost perfectly round gem. Her Gem is a bloodstone, mostly black in color with red splashes that seem to gleam when she uses her Magick. While all of this, alone, would be enough to make her stand out from other Peregrine Falcons, there is another large difference. The feathers around her beak, as well as her beak and talons, are often black with soot, to the point that she can never get them clean. Even once washed, they will often be grey with stains.

As a baby, like most birds, Gea isn't much to look at. She is almost lumpy looking, with uneven off-white fluff. Around her eyes the fluff vanishes, replaced with grey skin. Her beak is still grey, and her golden eyes are an ugly egg-yolk yellow. Her gem is dull, hidden amongst the down.

As she ages, however, she will definitely grow into her own. Her down will fall out, being replaced by beautiful, gleaming feathers. For the most part, they are a grey in color, with darker colored speckles. The underside of her wings, torso, and throat are cream in color, with black and grey bars. Her beak is largely yellow, with a grey tip, and her eyes become a beautiful gold. There is a 'hood' of grey on her head that is a few shades darker than the rest of her, and streaking down from her eyes her feathers are almost black, like tears. Her Gem will brighten, gleaming against her feathers.

Personality

From the moment she comes into awareness, Gea is almost frighteningly curious. She wants to know the who, the how, the what, the why, and the when, for everything. Who created the caves? How did they do so? What made the Gembounds? Why did they have Magick? When were the caves created? And she would do anything to figure it out. Whether that's risking burning her feathers to try and discover the source of the heat in Fornax, or nearly drowning to discover what's at the bottom of Pisces. And once she has set her mind to it, she won't drop it until she's satisfied with the answer she comes up with.

As she grows, and becomes more capable of doing things, she will prove to be wickedly smart, and insanely inventive. Where others see only a dead rat, or a pile of leaves, she sees a potential tool with which to carry things, or potential tinder. Even if she fails the first time, she will try over and over again until she is satisfied with the result, no matter how long it takes or how many iterations she has to go through. At times, however, she can become a little too focused on her work, not noticing things around her.
