Appearance

Pouncing ray to ray through the dappled shadows

Back from the Cretaceous, just in time to rock the caves.

Glaive is a menacing predator by appearance, even undersized and neutered by the magicks of the caves. Eyes like sharp blue skies stare down an elongated snout lined with spear-like teeth for impaling fish. Large, hooked claws sit on the ends of burly-seeming front legs. She most naturally adopts a quadrupedal stance, walking on the knuckles of her front legs; for a short amount of time, maybe to sniff in the air, Glaive can hoist herself up somewhat vertical. Full-grown, the dinosaur stands about 9' 3" tall at her hip, though her 3'7" tall sail seems to make her appear much larger.

As a beast evolved to be essentially aquatic, Glaive resembles crocodilian species a fair bit: short, stout, with a large, paddle-like tail for propulsion dragging her to about 36' of length. In days of old, she might've contended with fish the size of cars with complete ease. Her heavy, leathery hide and musculature all contributes to her skill as a powerful swimmer and prime ambush predator. At her healthiest, she hovers around 11,000 lbs.

The spinosaurus's gemstone is a chunk replacing the sagittal crest of her skull, formed from spiderweb turquoise.

Her coloration most resembles that of a caracara, and perhaps some sharks - dark on the top and light on the bottom, acting as camouflage from above and below. The vast majority of her face as well as the edges of her sail are bright crimson accentuated by pristine white and violet-tinted browns.

At cycle two, she's about nine feet long nose to tail, around two and a half feet tall at the hip, with some sail developing on her back.

Fresh out of the shell, there isn't much going on as far as Glaive's personality that doesn't hit the notes of generic child. Her demeanor's not set in stone - fully malleable by the experiences she has in the caves - but there's at least some unique parts.

For one, her fascination with rocks. She'll find very quickly that there are a number of different kinds of gemstones in the caves, a veritable menagerie of colors, shapes, sizes - and she'll want to collect them all. It won't be out of the ordinary to see the baby spoon diving down and down to search riverbeds or the bottoms of lagoons for gems, living or not (not that she isn't absolutely fascinated by magic-holding stones and having a peculiar penchant for collecting them.)

The other mildly interesting part of her disposition is her love for fishing, both for food and just out of curiosity. Glaive flits from one Lesser species to another, trying to investigate them and their lifestyles.

In the vein of generic child personality, she's too-trusting, naive, and eager to please. Given the chance to ramble, she might go a mile a second with that snout of hers. We'll see what happens to change that.
