Appearance

A majestic creature on sight, all browns and gold and proud stature. Like a lion in body shape, but merged with an eagle on the front. His whole body is covered in soft brown feathers, thick around the chest and stomach, but quite thin over his back legs. His head is that of a bird of prey with piercing orange eyes. The beak, curved and sharp, is bright yellow with a black tip. This same color is on his front legs, which are featherless and scaled with wicked talons on each four fingers. He has opposable thumbs on each of his front legs, allowing for very dexterous movements and an ability to grab and hold things, very much like hands.

His wingspan reaches an impressive 7.5 feet long and are a beautiful brown and gold color, with very little white usually common in golden eagles. These colors are reflected in the long, luxurious tail very much reminiscent of the legendary phoenix, much longer then a traditional bird's. The longer flight feathers and tail feathers also have an iridescent, fiery glimmer that very much gives them the appearance of a golden flame.

His gemstone is atop his head, much like a crown of bright golden sunstone, polished so that it almost glitters in the light. One could almost mistake it for flames licking the top of his head.

As a child, Glory has a very simple mind. He thinks mostly about how he can look awesome and the smallest things make him excited. He has a flair for the dramatic and finds every part of life extremely exciting. Every turn is a new opportunity to prove himself to the world, to grow stronger and to put himself out there. Impress as many people as possible, especially the older ones. The excitement over life may or may not change as he grows older, but he most definitely will grow out of the rest of it.

One thing he will carry through his whole life, however, is his honor. It is Glory's most notable and his personal favorite feature. He will never tell a lie and will never break his promises. To do so would be the greatest shame that he would spend his whole life making up for. The other thing is his pride. You will be hard pressed to find a more prideful and dignified creature in the caves. His self image is one of the most important things he has and his reputation is as important as breathing. He is always completely confident in himself and any who say otherwise can answer to his face and his fire. He's quick to anger, especially if he feels like he is being seen as inferior.

As he's grown older, Glory has taken on a flair of drama. He will sometimes overreact to things and is extremely animated, waving wings and tail feathers as if he were a performer and not a blacksmith. Emotions are exaggerated and any small grievance is suddenly a world-ending tragedy. It can be funny, at times, but may easily grate on the nerves.

History

Glory's cave is set in the wall of Monoceros - about halfway up with a fairly narrow path leading from the ground up the rocks. It is difficult, but not impossible, for land creatures to follow this path. A fairly large ledge sticks out, large enough for a dragon to land, which leads into a gaping hold in the wall. It is stifling hot within this cave, almost like stepping into an oven and the first thing to see is the forge. It is a magnificent construction, layers upon layers of melted rock reinforced by various metallic alloys and obsidian. It is in the center of the cave and reaches from the floor to the ceiling. An anvil sits in front of it and a variety of tools are scattered about, some simply hammers, others strange and not immediately recognizable.

To the right of the forge is a hole in the wall covered by a thick metal door. There is a strong glow coming from the corners of the door and, if looked within, one will see what is basically a platform in a small pool of lava - this is the smelter. A little ways along the wall from the smelter, in obvious sight of the door, are a number of displays built from stone and gems, showing off a variety of creations including weapons, armor, tools, decorations, and various other trinkets. Behind the displays is a large pile of other weapons - some look new while others seem to have come from the tunnel. This pile of weapons quickly turns into a massive pile that rings almost the rest of the room. It almost looks like half of Tunnel J was stuffed into the corner of his room. There's a small hollow in the pile with a fluffy looking nest made of dry brush and feathers that is obviously where Glory sleeps. Otherwise, this pile takes up most of the room in the cave, with only small open spots, especially around the forge and smelter for workspace.
