Appearance

Haven is distinctly draconic in origin, with two wings and two bird-like legs. They (at full growth) stand at about 4 feet at the shoulder with a 30 foot wingspan, and is 7 feet long from nose to the base of their tail. The tail itself is about 13 feet long. They have dark grey leathery skin, with armor-like sections of hard scales along their spine, and darker, harder plates located along their throat, chest, belly, and part of the underside of their tail. Where the wing bones meet the wrist of the limb, there are three fingers with long, sharp claws on the end, and on their feet are three toes with a fourth opposable digit, making them able to grasp things, also with claws on the end. Their legs are armored similarly to their belly plates, and their wings are serrated like a dragonfly’s, with separated flaps of skin stretched along wire-thin finger bones, allowing them for greater control of airflow when flying. To help them even more, their tail has six flaps on the end that are able to be moved and adjusted to the smallest detail, allowing better steering and swift flight.

On their nose and feet is a patch of lighter skin, hiding nerves that allow them to sense movement and heat. They cannot see due to a lack of eyes, but a powerful sense of smell renders sight unneeded, since they typically dwell in caves with little oxygen.

Their jaw, unbeknownst to many, extends forward past their lips, a lot like a goblin shark, in order to snap forward and grab prey. It is absolutely terrifying to see, and if you didn't know that she was a sweetheart, running for the hills would be a perfectly understandable response.

Scars:

Haven has a wide scattering of burn scars across her face, the front of her arms, and back. Due to the scars on her face, her sense of touch there is horribly affected and prevents her from feeling texture properly, leaving her having to rely on her fingers.

Mutations:

Haven now has Drinker feelers on her head and down her back, as well as bioluminescense from a Lightsting, allowing her to create colorful lights all over her body as she pleases. She will most likely use both to emote, though the former will allow her to regain her sense of touch.

Personality

Haven is very curious, often going out of her way to inspect something that spells particularly interesting until she gets bored and flies off to find something else to sniff. She can’t see, and lacks eyes, but it doesn’t make her any less expressive. Her brows rise and fall, and she bellows when she laughs. She’s a very humorous dragon, and kind, often trying her best to help others out. At the same time, she’s very empathetic, and can generally sense bad intent, as she listens to her gut feeling first and foremost.

She’s a very good hunter and a silent flier, able to swoop down and grasp prey in her strong claws before dropping them from a great height and swooping down to finish them off, or alternatively, snapping their necks. She prides herself on her kills, often taking something from each one, whether it be a bone, tooth, antler, or horn back to her den, but never a gem. She leaves those alone.

Haven doesn’t really do looks, since she can’t see, but she can feel and touch and judge based on character, which is good enough for her. Besides, who needs friends when you have your hoard of bones? Though… she wouldn’t mind perhaps showing off her bones...

History

The Dragonets Are Coming : Haven's hatching thread in Pisces and her very first encounter with Electrum!

[Event] Achievement Unlocked : Haven chases down Last Legs and obtains a piece of cloth with a needle and thread attached, sown into the fabric.

When Whorls Collide : Haven encounters Temperantia. They talk about having and not having eyes, it's very educational.

born on the wrong side of the chrysalis / hatching : Haven encounters Binh and rescues the hatchling from an untimely demise. He is then added to their small party, though Electrum strangely doesn't like him as much as Haven does.

[Quest] Relics of a Forgotten Age : Haven and Electrum venture to Fornax to investigate the sudden gathering of Gembound there. They soon find out that a storm has washed a great many relics to the shore.

Chains, Keys, and Fish, oh my! : Haven and Electrum follow some Gembound to Polaris and fend off a golem before quickly finding that something is horribly wrong with the river.

A World Away : Haven, lonely since Electrum disappeared into Cetus, sought adventure to hopefully cure her blues, and found one in Warrior, a curious horse from Hydra. They explore the ruins of Orion and encounter Pride, where she collects a sword hilt for her collection of items.

Racing on the thunder and rising with the heat : Haven finds Electrum where he'd been sleeping in Cetus, and they reunite and quickly get down to finally assessing the emotions and feelings growing between them. They announce themselves as mates (yay!!!) and head off to build a nest for themselves in Leo.

The Creature of the Black Lagoon : Haven, attracted to Pisces once more by stories of Tenzin told to her by Pride, sought the phoenix out, only to find that his chrysalis was trapped at the bottom of one of the pools. With the help of her fellow Gembound, they gathered enough power to revive him and regrow his feathers anew, allowing Tenzin to break free. In return, he gave Haven a gift of healing, before she fell asleep, drained by the ordeal.

[Quest] Lost Knowledge : Upon arriving in Leo with Electrum, Haven finds a mural and gets to work with other Gembound to find the missing pieces and put it back together, revealing the history it describes. (In progress.)
