Appearance

Plump and covered in the softest of plumage, this Red Star chicken is a quality specimen- but certainly not typical. Instead of tiny, useless wings, her front limbs are clawed and feathered, a little longer, a little bigger than the average poultry. Her tail is longer, too, balancing out that heavier body. Her beak, larger and more pronounced than before, now sports rows of tiny, pin-prickly teeth. Though clearly still a chicken, Ra'Hen is a prehistoric version of her species- like something from the age of primitive birds.

As a youth, Ra'Hen was a friendly, naive child. After a painful run-in with a komodo dragon which left her for dead, Ra'Hen became significantly more withdrawn and even temperamental- traits she's learned from her adoptive mother, no doubt. She's still friendly, enough, but now she keeps others at arm's reach. She becomes territorial and finicky when under stress. She's got a soft spot for younger or smaller gembounds, and can show a surprisingly amount of compassion despite her upbringing. She's a stubborn thing, putting her mind to something without relenting on her goals. A sharp tongue hides a dull mind, though- Ra'Hen is a simple creature, with simple needs and lacking in social situations. Awkward but well-meaning, Ra'Hen isn't your typical raptor.

History

Born half-way between Pisces and Polaris, Ra'Hen was alone for the first cycle of her life. She eventually came to find her "Ra'Ma" in one of the tunnels, and has lived for her raptor-guardian ever since.

After an unfortunate run-in with a toothy reptile, Ra'Hen fell into a coma, began enshrouded with her crystal and eventually hatched a month later as a reverted avian. Ancient genetic mutations returned to turn Henna into a raptor-like creature- which suited the chicken just fine! Now she prides herself as a Raptor, whether she technically is or not.
