Appearance

Hop is an orb. Is Hop made of fur or feathers? Nobody can get close enough to Hop to tell. Hop moves so fast that they resemble the blurry subject of a photograph more than a living thing. Hop is small. Hop is cute. Hop can often be seen hanging upside down from branches. Hop is brownish-yellowish-greyish with blackish-red. Hop has long feet which they use to BOUNCE. Hop can fit in the palm of your hand. Hop's tiny beak is so sharp that they could impale you if they wanted. Hop can fly but moves in flutters. Hop's long tail is always twitching. Hop is BOUNCE.

Achieving a mere 30g in weight and 2"/5cm in height, Hop is truly a tiny Gembound, but can reach up to 4"/10cm while standing on their long legs. Their coat is an even combination of dense, soft fur and small downy feathers, producing longer feathers as wings in place of front limbs, as well as above their tail. Due to their conglomerate biological class, Hop is too heavy to sustain flight for long periods, but their wings, powerful legs, and long tail allow them to jump a considerable distance. Hop has large eyes dominated by dark pupils and large, thin, round ears. Their stone, a blue-pink pearl, is nestled neatly in the center of their chest.

Personality

HOP IS BOUNCE. HOP IS CUTE. HOP IS ALWAYS MOVING.

Hop's name alone can tell you everything you need to know about them. Their intelligence is limited, as decisions and dialogue are executed with a flair of childlike naivety and blissful disregard for the darker facets of life. Their attention span is woefully short, and it seems Hop is always in need of stimulation or expression, be it locomotary (by moving) or sensory (by talking, touching, or digging). Hop tends to forget what they are doing within 0.5 seconds of doing it. They enjoy burrowing, often leaving many small holes in their vicinity, as well as bouncing and singing or trilling. Hop is loud, and although Hop is tiny, their presence is very easy to detect. You always know when Hop is around.

Despite their extremely flighty and fickle nature, Hop is a positive individual full of love and affection, even if Hop is rarely still or thoughtful enough to show it. Hop enjoys learning, but forgets often and may request to be taught something they were already taught. Hop's intentions are never malicious, but it can be easy to view Hop as annoying, stupid, or even the bane of a somber Gembound's existence. Hop lacks the capacity for grudges and doesn't keep enemies. Hop is incredibly gullible, energetic, and enthusiastic, and approaches life in a manner one can only describe as "dick-in-hand".
