Appearance

>Hugin and Munin fly each day
over the spacious earth.
I fear for Hugin, that he come not back,
yet more anxious am I for Munin.

Long ebony feathers are draped over a small but strong body, clothing large wings in a full, complete darkness. Only the faint shine of the feathers in the light allows someone to even see the body beneath the abyss-like darkness.
Otherwise, the darkness that is Hugin might very well be mistaken for a very hole in the material of the world.

Equally dark eyes peer from a thin, long face, intelligent but full of static energy, ready to zap anyone who might dare doubt them.
The beak beneath is only a little lighter, a dark, dull grey && possibly the most uninteresting part of the raven.

Undoubtedly the most interesting part of Hugin is his gem, though. A Cabochon Labradorite sits above the messenger's heart, oval && smooth, twisting invisibly around his ribs, a little too close to his heart for comfort.

Yet the raven is unaware of the danger his gem might be, instead wearing the gemstone with pride as it glows dimly && shimmers when he is using his magic.

Once an adult, Hugin will have a wingspan of 150cm && weigh around 2kg, putting him on the upper end of his species' size && weight.

Personality

Two ravens flew from Odin's shoulders;
Hugin to the hanged and Munin to the slain

Where Munin is more reserved && the mind of the duo, which works out a problem before acting on it, Hugin is the thought that suddenly appears in one's mind, the unstopable urge upon which one has to act immediately.
Munin is the brains, whereas Hugin is the brawn.

Yet even with their differences, Hugin is fiercely protective of his sibling. They were born together, they breathe together, they are as one.
It makes no difference whether Hugin himself or Munin is insulted, the larger raven acts the same. A slight to his sibling is a slight to him.

But even the quick-tempered raven is more than just anger concentrated in one being. True to his nature, he is smart && quick-witted, has a liking to speaking in riddles && playing pranks ( at least in his younger years ).
Hugin can be a sarcastic but ultimately good friend to those who give him && his brash demeanor a chance. He can grow as protective of his friends as he is of Munin, if given the time && loyalty to grow close to someone. His reaction to being betrayed is all the wilder, though.
It's really nothing one would want to bring upon himself.
