Unlike most dragons, Iceheart isn't particularly large. They're no taller than your average thoroughbred horse-- formidable, but not exactly the towering, serpentine creature you would expect to dart across the sky like a distant storm. Iceheart is a little more grounded; built low and solid with a stocky, compact frame. Their limbs are shorter than one might expect, but they are powerful, ending in broad, clawed feet that grip rock and ice and prevent them from sinking into deep snow.

Their body is cloaked in dense fur, thick like bear pelt, with coarse outer layers and a softer, silken undercoat. Their undersides are dark, shimmering like black ice. Shining a light on them shows iridescence, greens and purples shining, not dissimilar from aurora borealis overhead. Their back is much less interesting; stark white but dull like a thick cloud. Their face is bone-white like a skull, ridged with grey-blue where white meets black.

Their wings are more akin to albatross wings than the batlike wings of other dragons. They're large and lean and angular, made for gliding rather than brute-force flight. The feathers are mostly white, though the primaries and coverts are etched in blue-black. It's rare that they'd fly on their own accord, but they don't stay aloft very long.

In contrast to their stocky limbs is a long prehensile tail that extends from the base of their spine, wreathed in black ice-pelt and ending in an even thicker tuft of almost pale blue fur. Where their voice shows little emotion, their tail is full of it-- coiling with focus, lashing when angry, wrapping around another for comfort. Their tail is much more for socializing than battle, but it's not completely incapable of delivering bruises if needed.

Iceheart's head is rounded, hornless, and covered in fur. It resembles something more akin to a dog than a lizard; they have a long, slender muzzle ridged with sensitive whiskers, twitching often even at the slightest change in temperature. Their crystalline eyes glint like icicles in their skull and are framed with enormous, black eyelashes that are crusted with frost. There is a certain alertness that lingers in their gaze: a sense that Iceheart is always listening, watching, and despite everything, thinking.

As a child, Iceheart is about the size of a labrador. There is no notion of black in their pelt: they are completely white and blend in with the snow. Over time, they lose their baby coat and grow in their adult colours.

Iceheart's curiosity is boundless, sometimes to a fault. Iceheart has an insatiable need to know, to dig deeper, to peel back layers whether or not they should be uncovered or not. This drive often pulls them into situations before they've had a chance to consider the consequences-- though it's not like Iceheart would ever voice any regret over the matter. To them, it's worth the trouble at any cost.

More often than not, Iceheart can get a little bossy in a way that suggests a deep need for some kind of order-- (no, not that kind of Order) --not because they think they know better, but because they hate to see a situation turn to utter chaos where it could have been otherwise prevented. They speak with the voice of someone who expects to be obeyed and listened to, and they don't always notice when their unwanted orders land hard on others. It's not arrogance but instead, instinct-- they take lead not for a need to garner power, but because they fear what happens when no one steps up.

Though, sometimes it might not seem like that when their fuse is so short. Irritation comes up swiftly, especially when their intentions are misunderstood or their leadership is challenged. They don't cool very quickly, either-- grudges are held for weeks at a time, if not lifetimes. It's very easy to tell when they don't like someone too. They don't voice it but there is avoidance, an unwillingness to speak directly. Similarly, apologies and affections are never held in words, always actions.

Beneath a sharp edge of bossiness and short-temper is a gentle nature and fierce protectiveness. While their words are blunt, harsh or completely without tone at all, they carry a lot of weight in actions. They remember small things about people-- favourite foods, passing comments, or ticks and habits people do when they're upset. Iceheart means well, always, even if they never deign to tell someone so directly.
