Appearance

Ischium is on the small side for a Coyote - as small as they get, actually. He measures just over three feet from the base of his tail to the back of his head, and stands just shy of a quarter under two feet at his shoulder. Itchy will never be burly or strong, built for running and hiding and fleeing. He is long legged, wire-y, with a thin frame. His chest dives sharply into a concave stomach. If one didn't know him, they'd think he was malnourished, starved. His fur is too big for him, and hangs from his bones; where it sticks his bones show clearly. His hips poke out like those of a tired nag, and one could play his ribs like a xylophone. But he eats enough not to starve - he just has a particularly odd appearance.

The colors of his coat are highly muted. The sandy browns and dusky greys are barely able to be told apart from each-other, only a hair's shade between them. His fur is fairly thick, most of it a mix of pepper-grey and sand-brown. His muzzle is mostly brown, although the underside is white, and it extends to the ruff of his throat. The only bright colors on him are his eyes - bright, blue aquamarines. His gem is a dull chunk of obsidian replacing his nose. Due to this, he has no sense of smell.

Personality

Ischium will spend his first few cycles alone, and have to turn to non-Gembounds to prevent from going insane of loneliness. And, well, depending on who you ask, it either did or didn't work. He doesn't stagger around or scream at the walls - his is a more innocent, if it can be called that, insanity.

He talks to bones. Not in the way of Giggle, the Bonereader, Skeena the Bone-seer, or any of the other Gembounds who 'speak' with bones. Rather, he adopted a few skulls, and spoke to them, and for them, as though they were Gembounds. And over time, he stopped talking for them, hearing them talk in his head. They don't really talk, of course, little more than auditory hallucinations. His hallucinations aren't limited to sounds, however. When they 'speak', he sees 'eyes' in their empty eye sockets, little more than balls of floating light. Each skull is its own Gembound - with a name, and a gender, and a story. While he is young, the names and stories are ridiculous, the kind a child would come up with while telling a fantastical story. Patchy, a crocodile who fought dangerous flying fish in a desert! Snowball, a bird that could fly the length of the caves in a single wing beat! And even as he ages, those who have names will not have their names changed - after all, one doesn't change their name for no reason! But the skulls he befriends, and names, as he gets older will have more sensible names, stories that could actually happen. Aerin, a lion who spent his life studying the various plants of the caves. Esther, a jackal who was a Master of Magick.

His social skills with living Gembounds, once he meets them, are rather lacking. They can move, after all, and ignoring them doesn't work. They can follow him if he storms off. They are wholly alien to him, and he doesn't understand them. This can often lead to him being far too blunt, although he seldom means to be unkind. He doesn't see difference between living Gembounds and his skulls, and will speak about his skulls as though they are alive - and to him, they are.
