Appearance

Pale - Jagged - Powerful

Overall, Ivory is a powerful, fairly swift beast--strikingly pale overall, and exotically pretty to look upon, in a somewhat brutish, strangely pure way. She exhibits great size, spikes and horns all over, hoofed hind legs, glowing eyes and a catlike, lashing tail.

Ivory is a strange mix. Once upon a time, a strange, diseased horse gave life to a stone belonging to a three-way hybrid: this beast had been formed of Smilodon Populator (a large saber-toothed tiger species), a Thorny Devil lizard, and a tiny Nicobar Pigeon. The resulting creature, Shango, in turn gave life to a stone that he found: a cross of Addax antelope, and Black Rhinoceros.

As a result, Ivory has small splashes of a number of species. She is nearly the size of an adult rhinoceros: almost five and a half feet tall at the shoulder, though of a lighter build, weighing around two thousand pounds. She bears the rhino's two facial horns, too, as well as its distinct, rotated, cupped ears, and thick, almost armored hide. Her coloration--pale whites ranging from alabaster to creams and light grays, with a slightly darker frame around the face, and peach-colored hooves--comes from the Addax, as do the twin spiral horns twisting back from her head. Her muzzle, too, is fairly Addax-like, as are her cloven hind hooves.

Her mane, feathering, and tail-feathers, along with wings (whose function is, at best, adding some balance to sharp maneuvering) are scale-like, ragged (though soft) feathers, a combination of the Nicobar Pigeon's feathers and the Thorny Devil's scales. The long tail belongs to the Devil, too, though it's thinner and more flexible. And the slight, but very pointed, thorns decorating the thick hide are likewise the lizard's. The slight jutting saber teeth and something of the torso's overall build are reminiscent of that of the Smilodon saber-toothed cat. The thick, plush fur covering her body is most definitely catlike, too. The birdlike, white front legs, with hooved bottoms and hoof-blunted claws, were most certainly from her pigeon ancestry--and these can be used to grip and to hold items, with very basic accuracy. A mutation from Hydra has left her neck, chest and back studded with glowing, toxic quills; on the flip side, the same mutation has left her highly resistant to most poisons and toxins.

The long, arched neck, slightly-dished face and large eyes are likely all from her horse ancestry; the ghostlight glow to them certainly belonged to Khloros, and to Shango as well.

Ivory's gemstone is a natural pearl, one that can shine white, or reflect shades of flame, pink or apricot, depending on the lighting. It replaces and extends from part of her skull, forming a sort of shield over her face, though leaving a hole around the eye and the horn. It provides little protection, being as soft as it is, but is fairly striking to look at.

Personality

Strong - Rash - Loyal

Ivory is no one to mess with--at least, in her own mind. She's go, go, go, all the time: pushy, nosy, loud, speaking her mind. She's likely to lower her head and bring her horns to bear if she thinks it needed, and won't back down; her inner fire is unquenchable. That being said, she isn't mean-spirited, nasty or overbearing. She's just willing to defend herself, and her reputation, against the slightest threat or insult.

Ivory's not fearless, but she won't back down. Her will is iron, determination her defining characteristic. She's not a sophisticated, graceful or tactful Gembound; on the contrary, she's blunt, brash and fairly aggressive in her dealings, in the sense that she takes things head-on, proactively (not that she is vicious).

Though perhaps hard to get along with, Ivory is has a very positive personality and outlook, boisterous and, though perhaps foolhardy, very outgoing. Once someone's become her friend, she'd be loyal to the death--ready to defend them as easily as she defends herself, using her great physical strength to act as a guardian: a tank. That being said, she'd take betrayal hard; she has a sense of honor, too, that will probably be very strong.

Most likely, she'll be fascinated by the caves, and fiercely determined to see, expore, and learn all its locations, and many of its people, while conquering any threat that faces her. Circumstances and experiences may always shape her differently, of course.
