Appearance

Huh, that's a funky little rat. Usually, your typical cave rats are seen in packs or scurrying around for food, and easily spooked. That's not Janitor, though. The Janitor is a weird one. Pale, fleshy skin shows through his thin, curled coat, showing that he's some sort of double rex rat. He'll go through periods of being a bit more fluffy, with wispy curled fur, and periods of being fairly, well... naked in patches. He usually ambles around the cave on two legs, though when no one's around he might scurry on all fours. He tends to have a bit of a hunch, with a white, cauliflower-like mass forming at his right shoulder, limiting mobility to some degree. In his youth, it will be small and barely noticeable, but will grow as he does, becoming fairly obvious as his fur thins out and his skin stretches around it. It doesn't seem to bother him much, as he uses his left paw for most heavy lifting if he needs to.

Besides that, Janitor is easily forgettable. While you might notice the oddity of a talking rat, among the other cave rats and talking gembound, he's pretty unremarkable. He keeps his body relatively clean, and tends to not have much of a smell, and his milky pink, beady little eyes don't make contact with others often. His voice will start squeaky as a youngin', but will quickly grow deep and raspy, grumbling about somethin' or other. He stays out of the way, and even if you do notice him, there's not much to hold your attention. He's just a rat, doin' his job, after all.

The type of fella that was born with an old soul. Only bound to get more wrinkles and moles with the cycles.

The Janitor is a simple guy. The kind of fellow nobody minds much, easily forgotten in the background. To be fair, ain't nobody gotta worry about what he's up to. He's just here to do his job, and his job? Keepin' shit clean.

As a youngin', Janitor's morals and understandings of the world will be easily malleable, with only two defining features of his personality that will remain unshakeable. The guy hates a messy space, and will stubbornly set to cleaning whatever is around him.

He ain't here to bother anyone. He might grumble and complain, but hard work is its own reward. He likes a job well done, no matter how thankless. Of course, anyone who shows him the time of day and respect will stand out among those who otherwise ignore him. He's not particularly chatty out the gate, and definitely not the kinda guy to wax lyrical or humor philosophy. He doesn't give a shit about why we're all here, or what the afterlife might hold, or if there's gods or anything. Look, that's beyond him, y'know? He keeps it simple.
