General Appearance

Imagine a sheep.
Now, imagine it has two legs and hands. And that it's a little on the lanky side. Yeah. That's what she looks like.

Jester as she will look at 4+ cycles. So long as nothing drastic happens.

Jester is a faun in sheep shape, complete with a built-in pair of woolly bloomers and a great fleece mantle. Said fleece mantle covers most of her back, connecting the bloomers along the line of her spine, where a fluffy tail pokes out the bottom to wag as she makes awful, cheesy jokes. It also covers most of her neck and head, covering her eyes and leaving only her nose, mouth and ears poking out from all the fluff.

During heavy growth, her face can disappear further into all the fluff, and her mid-section can be completely consumed by the fluff. Leaving her looking like a cotton wool ball with little cocktail stick arms and legs poking out. To contrast, however, post shearing, her lanky form is exposed. She's all hard angles, skinny, bony, lanky with only the barest amount of meat on said bones. There's some muscle there; there has to be to carry around such a heavy fleece all the time, but it's compact and hard, only adding to all those nobbily edges.

After a shear, it exposes her face. Which sits a proud, Roman nose, slightly blackened and pinkish lips, a light scattering of freckles and sunspots, and rather alarmingly red eyes. Her eyes match her sheepy counterpart, with rectangular pupils for excellent peripheral vision (if the wool wasn't in the way), eye rotation to keep her vision upright when the head is tilted or lowered. Yet, all of this is uncannily hindered by the fact that they're forward-mounted eyes, just like a human. Meaning she's always looking directly at you, with both eyes, which to fellow humanoids may be slightly alarming to look at. Thankfully, they're covered most of the time.

Matching her hooves, Jester's fingers are each tipped with thick, darkened keratin nails and toughened skin at her fingertips, which spreads all the way down to her wrists. Though walking on said hands doesn't seem like it would be a comfortable experience, it seems they were adapted for it regardless.

Even her exposed skin is covered in a flecking of hair, soft to the touch and thick, with only the pink of her skin coming through on the very thinnest of patches. Covering her in a fleecy white from head-to-toe, making her an eye-straining bright white when clean. Which, as you can imagine in the caves, looks dirty very quickly, staining her constantly from the muck from each cave; which may have made a decent camouflage if she wasn't still bright white despite the grime.

Wool

She's a domestic sheep, so that wool of hers can grow to huge lengths and densities, and it won't stop growing either until her health is impacted, until it's so heavy she cannot move, infection and parasites spread, and she eventually dies. So, she must be shorn every few cycles, or even more frequently within warmer caves.

Overgrown wool leads to only her mouth, ear tips and extremities exposed. This also reduces mobility in the torso, neck, head, elbows and knees.

It is a great boon in cold caves, keeping her core warm, even if her extremities are still exposed to the elements. However, less of a boon when it gets soaked. Natural water-resistant oils keep her fleece waterproof during rain, showers or splashes, but long exposure to water can eventually seep into the wool and can later cause more health problems if not dried and treated afterwards.

Stone

Balanced, first between tiny nubs within her first cycles, then between horns that curve inwards to remain touching the stone, is a bright crimson pearl. The stone stands in stark contrast to the rest of her alarmingly plain white body. The stone looks as if it's precariously balanced between the horn tips, but truthfully, it's attached where the tips should be; so no matter how the horns grow or to what lengths, they can never escape the stone attached between them. Even if a horn were cracked and broken off in the middle, the stone would remain firmly in place by its attachment to the other. If it's not broken cleanly off, the horn would still look unbroken due to the pearl holding it in place.

It is, however, heavy. Both horns and the stone are prone to causing neck pain, throwing off balance and causing odd growth from the horns. While they can never grow independently, they may begin to form odd shapes or even droop back down from the heft.

Personality
Oh ho! What mask shall she wear for you?

Perhaps she'll create a whole new one just to interface with you. What is it she'll think you need?

A soft spoken friend? A harsh rival? An idol? A tutor? A lover? An arrogant prince? An entity to fear? Endless possibilities, never-ending and always changing. Handcrafted and delivered straight to you; she can't be hurt if it's all a joke. Melancholy cannot cling to a moving target, and feelings can't be hurt if they were all wrapped up in jokes and laughter!

Insincerity? Nonsense. Don't be ridiculous! Oh! What's that behind your ear? Why, it's deflection and distraction! Let's move on.

Outwardly, Jester is happy-go-loving, full of energy and mischief roiling in a lanky body that's built to enhance her foolish attitude. Full of a love for life, some may call it. She loves dance, jokes, slapstick, anything to make someone laugh. Or, for those that she's less fond of, pranks, harmless jabs and practical jokes; usually at that person's expense. She's certainly not afraid to get her hands dirty if it'll amuse her or anyone else around her.

While Jester is far from sheepish, she does sometimes feel an urge to go with the herd, follow the flock. When she gets attached to others, she gets attached rather hard. And she'll hold onto it in an iron grip, trying to get rid of her after that is like trying to remove a barnacle. A parasite that tries to crawl under the skin, if parasites were prone to bad jokes and obnoxious laughter.

It's uncertain why she emerged from her chrysalis with such a larger-than-life personality, but underneath it all, she's still just a person. Adapting and changing through her experiences.

History
Cycle 137
Jester emerged in Tunnel F where she met Opal-V-One of whom she currently has a very high opinion of-- for a baby.
Had an encounter with The Mysterious Rift in Gemini.
