Appearance

Amongst the largest of the caves inhabitants, Karst is quite the imposing sight. They take the rough shape of a sauropod dinosaur, with four sturdy legs, a strong neck, and a long tail. Their underbelly is somewhere between leathery and pebbly and colored a earthy brown. Their topside is far more armored, covered in dark grey plates that look like jagged spires of stone. She stands about 11 feet tall at the shoulder, but the tallest spikes reach up further.

The stoney spikes are generally sharper on the Valkhound's neck and head, and duller towards the tail. In fact, the wide arrangement on the end of her tail is completely blunted.

The largest pair of spikes sit just in front of their shoulders, pointing forward and up. Their neck is thickly muscled under the armor, which almost forms a cowl over her head. Her face looks like a stone skull, with somewhat sunken eyes. Both their chin and a horn between her eyes jut forward in jagged points. Their Oilstone sits on the underside of her chin.

A soft green glow comes from the underside of Karst's neck and tail, the tips of her spines, and peeks through cracks and seams in her armor. Her eyes and mouth also glow the same color.

Karst is herbivorous, browsing on both leafy and woody plants. In addition to plant material, they also consume rocks, as they need a large amount of minerals to form its armor.

Various plants will settle on her back, provided enough time and favorable conditions. Plants that don't mind bare stone will happily cover anywhere on their armor, but ones that need looser substrate would be limited to gaps between each plate, as soils can gather in the pockets. The type of plants would depend on where Karst ends up frequenting most - for example, the plants that enjoy Eridanus would likely wilt and wither if exposed to Hydra's heat.

Personality

She is a somewhat simple beast, wandering wherever her whims take her. Especially while young, they're somewhat oblivious. Life is taken one step at a time, because she hasn't yet learned to look more than two ahead. It leaves her somewhat impressionable too, for whoever happens into her life.

Karst is also curious, watching smaller Gembound often. Small, fragile, oh so different - They could sit down and watch them for ages.
