Appearance

The thing about being a juvenile duck is that you're in an awkward stage between "cute fluff" and "porcupine duck from hell." Black, yellowish, and brown feathers in various stages protrude from his body, making him feel uncomfortable. Eventually, he will pass on to have more feathers and less fluff, which will in turn, lead to more developed feathers.

In practically no time at all, he will find himself covered in pristine feathers. He will be a relatively typical mallard male color (don't forget he views himself genderless though!) with brown chest, greyer underbelly, and various shades between in the wings. Not to forget the curved black tail feathers or the blue iridescent bordered by white feathers on his wings. The majority of his stone is hidden within, replacing his valuable right lung. Two crystals protrude from his chest, almost hidden among the feathers.

Oh, but his head, of course. You expected a neat white ring that goes all the way around and shining green iridescent head? Not at all; Kawenu is a beholder of a primarily white head, with the iridescent coloring from the eyes up, and down to the bridge of his beak. He finds himself very proud of this trait, as he feels it makes him appear "more androgynous."

He currently has no scars or physical ailments that he is aware of.

Personality

If he were a human with medical advances in mental diagnosis, Kawenu would be stamped with "Bipolar I Disorder" and shuffled down a hall to a mental ward. As it is, he is not human. He is a duck, he wishes the ocean were liquor. Damn.

Kawenu has had a hard life, simply because his mind is broken. His mood swings are often unpredictable, even to himself. He hates catching himself being unreasonable irritable almost as much as he hates feeling like he should die. There are many twists and turns in his head, but there is much to him that causes many to overlook his large flaws.

A friend who loves him and he loves back will be cared for deeply. He does everything he can to keep promises, although tries to not make promises because he knows he might break them. He cries from overwhelming joy, but can't cry when it's really needed. He gets clingy way more than he gets distant. When he's distant, everyone knows he's having an off day. He's an introvert who likes being with trusted company. Artistic, creative, imaginative, and thoughtful. He tries with every fiber of his being, until he just cannot any longer.

And most importantly; he will not pick fights, but he will not stand down if it's for an important cause.

Recap: he's "crazy," a bit twisted, depressed, suicidal, strong, caring, sucks at crying properly, really likes colors and shapes and stuff, would jump in front of a metaphorical bullet for someone he really likes, and likes to remind everyone that he is genderless! (Now picture him screaming that, getting all frazzled and fluffy. Cute, isn't it?)

Kawenu is a Tsalagi word, which means duck. It's very simple name with a very clear and simple meaning. Kawenu is a duck, of course.

MAGICKA

Yes, he is in touch with his fungal side. While using his Fungal Wake magic in a relaxed settling, he most often creates different species of moss and lichen. It's not uncommon to see him eating the patches of fungus that form where his feet plopped down at one point. His favorite snack is naturally grown fungus found in water, growing up rocks and other natural things that sit for years with moisture abound.

When in fear or feeling rather homicidal, Kawenu may likely leave a trail of Death caps in his wake.
