Appearance

There is nothing soft nor gentle about Kera's appearance at first glance, right down to even her fur looking deceptively rough around the edges. The scars don't help to make her look almost downright menacing, the most abundant of which rake through her muzzle in five different places. There are also shiny, rough scars parting the fur on her shoulders and haunches.
Similarly, she's on the larger side of her species-- roughly thirty-three inches tall at the shoulder, and the strong muscles of her shoulders are evident even underneath a thick mass of shaggy, white fur. She is missing some teeth; some others are broken. Most mildly intimidating of all is her masculine voice, deep and rasping but still distinctly-- if distantly --feminine for the most part.
It takes a detail-orienated eye to catch the kindness in her eyes and the softness of the muscle around them. The amaranthine is a warm colour, pleasant, but largely almost out of place on Kera's ragged face. Similarly out of place is the uneven cut of rose quartz nestled into her throat, half-shrouded by a mane of pale fur, the same colour as her eyes.
Broad and often slow-moving, Kera seems to do everything in her power to make her seem less intimidating in most situations, though often to little avail. There's still dignity to it; stubbornly clung to, she remains proud and straight-backed whenever she can. She's much less inclined to walk around like she owns the damn place like she did as a pup but there's still light evidence that she's not entirely a different wolf from the one all those cycles ago.
Though again, for the detail-orienated; there is a distinct solemness about her. The things that she's lived through-- Blackberry and her spawn, namely --seem to have taken a toll on her even cycles after they've stopped terrorizing the caves. The things that Kera did to the goose and the things that the goose did to other people very clearly still weighs heavily on her mind, and that much can be seen by her quietness.
Her voice has gone a little distant in recent cycles. A lack of proper rest has made her movements a little more sluggish and uncoordinated than Kera would truly like, but it doesn't make her any less fierce or determined in battle, and sure as hell, no less relentlessly clever.

Everyone grows up, even heroes. This much is evident in Kera who, as a child, was borderline insufferable, egotistical and loud, proclaiming herself to be the hero that the Caves needed, even if they didn't know it yet. She was brash, arrogant, reckless, but above all, brave.
Sure, there are days where Kera will value her stories and conquests over doing something actually of use, but this side of her is more rarely seen-- or at the very least, it's far more subtle. She's relatively quiet now; the hardships she's barrelled her way through have finally caught up to her. It's evident enough even in the way that she speaks.
It might be unfair to call Kera anxious, but she's certainly something of a worrier in her own way. She wants to do good, she wonders if she has truly ever done the right thing in the past. She doesn't want new gembound to even come close to seeing the things that she saw when she was young, and the implication that they might will set her off to no end. She becomes a pup again in that manner-- brash, aggressive, too quick to act before she thinks.
This anxiety, this worry, is hidden, however. Kera presents herself as far more confident than necessary, and although she is generally quite level-headed and confident with her own knowledge and experience, it might be clear to some that quick-witted, clever Kera is something of a mask. In Kera's mind, a guardian can't show these kinds of anxieties. A hero can't take the time to mourn a childhood or lives lost. Kera has managed to reason herself, somehow, into being a strong figure right up until she keels over.
Not to say that she isn't strong, brave or clever, however-- she certainly can be. It might just be easier for the scarred wolf to hype herself up to a much greater image than to let people know that even guardians have to cry sometimes.
Arguably, it's good for her regardless. The distancing from 'how can I be a great hero?' drives her closer to thinking 'how can I make people safer?' instead. The arrogance has leaked right out of her paws and made her, genuinely, more concerned for the general populous of the caves. In this regard, even, despite Kera's fairly blunt way of speaking and presenting herself, she remains a fairly genuine person. She's not the type to lie to someone's face, even if it's small, nor is she the type to hide secrets or gossip behind people's backs.
It might be a matter of time, however, until constantly putting people before herself eventually catches up to Kera too, however.

Kera hatched around Cycle Thirty-Six, when the caves had been plunged into darkness. Giggle predicted she would turn the lights on, and then she did.
This much gave Kera an inflated sense of ego, which has finally managed to pop and burst. Since being responsible for beating the terror of the caves into mutating and going on a murder spree, however, she's began to second-guess herself.
Kera works for Vargas now, though to what end, Kera isn't entirely sure.
