Appearance

Kin-Kin is a rather small, dainty and lithe creature, even for a red wolf. When first emerging, there's no doubt that if she were on earth, she'd be the runt of the litter. Wobbly, clumsy, with a small body and enormous paws, she rarely walks a couple of steps without falling.

Her fur is a very pale, sandy and almost golden shade of brown. It appears especially bright when seen in conjunction with her magic, which leads to her often being seen with a soft glow about her. Unfortunately though, whether she's glowing or not, this also makes her hopeless at stealth, as even in the darkest or brightest parts of the cave it's hard to hide her golden coat.

From early on in her life, Kin-Kin will wear a tattered piece of blue fabric as a cloak, held in place by the gem on her chest. She'll use this at first as a blanket for comfort and to hide from strangers, but as she figures out she can't get it off, it'll become more of an aesthetic to her.

Her gem takes the form of a large orb of Moonstone in the centre of her chest, with two sharp hooks protruding either side. These are connected beneath the skin through one of her ribs. Though the hooks will get bigger and eventually start to curl in on themselves like ram horns, her gem will not change much throughout her life. Her eyes will always stay a bright shade of deep purple.

As she grows older, Kin-Kin will get bigger and more muscular, less lanky due to a growing obsession with training and strength. Her almost-golden coat will grow more dramatic with thick, luscious fur covering her. Although, weighing about 45 pounds when at her healthiest and standing tall at 23 inches at the shoulder, she'll never grow to be quite as big as some of her kind.

Personality

Kin-Kin will get a nasty shock as she enters the world for the first time. The world is imperfect, her body weak and small whilst everyone else... big and scary. She struggled to move, she kept falling, she feared the world and her place in it.

This lead to a conscious decision to grow, to become who she wanted to be.

From this point onwards, Kin-Kin is bright, bubbly, and vain. Thinking very highly of herself, it seems inevitable that she'll eventually grow into a huge flirt. Incredibly playful, she'll turn an intelligent conversation into a game of wits at a moment's notice, even if it's one's annoyance. She seems to enjoy taunting people in this way when she's bored, showing that she has a bit of a mean streak. In addition, she appears often blind to genuine anger, although despite this is also remarkably quick to flee if things turn vicious.

When she's alone, or if anyone asks, Kin-Kin is obsessed with training. she wants nothing more than to simply be strong, to stop falling over, and to strike awe into the hearts of those that look upon her. She's always open to a playful sparring session, a game of tag, or a race. If it's physical, it's training, but be prepared; if you beat her, she won't give up until she's got you back! So be prepared to keep racing for hours, until she beats you, or you let her win. And even then, be prepared for the bragging.

Although free spirited and seeming to pop in and out of conversations when she feels like it, Kin-Kin does, in fact, have a sense of loyalty towards those who can cope with her games. That's to say, ask her to stop, and she'll stop, or she'll bring you a small gift rather than just outright not apologizing. Or, if something puts a friend in what she perceives as danger, be prepared for her to jump headlong into a fight or situation that you'd be hard-pressed to get her to stop.

History

Cycle 1:

Hatched in Orion- met Zevruu upon her emergence. She begins to realize that the world isn't so bad as it seems, mostly through looking at her reflection. Hanging around Orion most of the time- ventures into Tunnel M and meets Rinaotei for the first time.

Cycle 2:

Kin-Kin decides who she wants to be and begins training all by herself. She slowly builds her strength and confidence whilst the caves are eerily silent; when they grow active again, it's as though she's emerged a new wolf. Explores Pisces- has a run in with Kallista and Batcat Jr. Returns to Orion.

Cycle 3:

Goes to Monoceros in order to test her strength against the winds before returning to Orion. Soon becomes tired of Orion, and returns to the place of her birth, where she gets into a fight with Imperia up in the highest tower of Orion. Returning to Pisces after leaving Orion, assumedly for good, she catches up with Rinaotei.

Cycle 4

Manipulates Gadanai (to some extent) into the idea that she's become the elephant's little 'pet'. However, she soon slips away back into the darkness of the cave. Travels to Polaris and meets Khoridai and her oldest friend Zevruu.

Cycle 5

Kin-Kin considers her fight with Imperia, and comes to the realization that her magic cannot help her in battle. Feels like she needs something beautiful, yet dangerous.

Cycle 6:

Meets Tukluk as he emerges from his Chrysalis. Not exactly a nurturing mother, she pisses him right off. Wins the Origin Olympics in the Magicka competition, which gave her the biggest ego boner in the caves. As a result, she becomes convinced that she can do anything. She decides to try creating crystals to use in battle, which she feels is beautiful yet dangerous enough to use in battle.

Cycle 7

Kin-Kin summons a crystal spike to use as a sword in future battles. Her ego boner grows ever larger. Due to this, she challenges Imperia to another battle with her sword. She wins.

The caves fall silent for several cycles, causing her to retreat to a den in Polaris. she slacks off on training and does only the basics necessary to survive.

Cycle 10

Kin-Kin realizes that life is trickling back into the caves by meeting Ghanyarah. She spends a while preparing for her spectacular re-entry into society and meets up with several of the caves' new inhabitants. The wolf travels to Orion, where she adopts a wolf pup named Andromeda mainly out of pride. After so long spent in the darkness, she begins training with magic again and finally becomes a master of her element. Her glow becomes permanent with the overuse of the spell... but it isn't something she'll complain about.

Cycle 11

The lights have gone out, but Kin-Kin is able to navigate using her light. Prideful as ever, her light appears even brighter against the darkness, so she is able to navigate (and help others navigate) with ease. Kin-Kin encounters Mosi in Orion, who convinces her that she is a Demigod, a mortal with godly powers. Kin-Kin is hesitant to believe in gods themselves but is so smitten with the title that she adopts it on the spot.
