Appearance

As a pup, Kit has a thin, lean frame that is draped in an ash grey pelt. The fur around her muzzle and eyes is darkened by a charcoal grey color, as is the long hair that grows along the nape of her neck. Her long legs are also coated with dark grey fur, that fades into stripes along her shoulders and flanks. The stripes along her sides are so faint that they are nearly indistinguishable from the rest of her fur. The tip of her short, bushy tail just barely brushes along the top of her fibula.

Once Kitaka reaches adolescence, her dark grey fur begins to progressively darken. The fur along the nape of her neck starts to grow too, with the ends remaining dark but the tendrils of hair growing out light. By the time she is an adult, there is a stark difference between the black of her markings and the dusty grey of her base coat. Only her muzzle and eyes remain the same charcoal grey that they were whenever she was a pup.

Her eyes aren’t the only other thing that remains the same from the hyena's puppyhood to her adulthood though. One unchanging part are the dark brown eyes that stare out from her ashen mask. They are such a deep shade of mahogany, that in the poor light of the caves, they appear as black as obsidian. Another prominent feature, probably the most prominent in fact, is the glistening purple gem-fang that protrudes from her lower jaw. Her gem replaces the entirety of her lower left canine, as well as the an inch of the jaw bone around it. Whether her gem has extended her jaw past normal lengths, or it’s merely a genetic mutation, it is unclear.

Personality

The first thing you'll notice about Kit is how much she likes to talk. Some might say it's just because she likes to hear her own voice, but the truth is much simpler than that. The hyena actually has a very thin filter in between her thoughts and her tongue, so most of what she thinks slips down from her brain and right out of her maw. You'll never have to worry about where you stand with her, because she'll always let you know, whether she actually wants to or not. She is, obviously, awful at lying, or any deceitful sort of behavior. She rarely tries such tricks though, because she prefers honesty from others in return for her own bluntness.
Kitaka won’t be gracing any ears with her voice for a little while though because it takes her a while to learn everything. It’s not because she’s not smart, but rather because of how ridiculously stubborn she is. The hyena insists on trying her way several times, and failing, before she will concede and try any other ways. If there is any evidence at all that her idea will work, she’ll try it tirelessly until she succeeds.
Her stubborn bleeds over into her relationships. She becomes extremely attached to anyone that she gets close to, and has the tendency to never want to leave them. Her clingyness has set her up for disappointment and failure, but she refuses to give up anyone, even if they have rejected her. If she is your friend, ally, or enemy, it will take a catastrophe, or two, to change her mind about her. She holds grudges as if her life depends on them.
