Appearance
This is a gembound who has spent over two entire earth years in his flint chrysalis. The form he is born into is the only one he has ever known: a full-sized monstrosity of modernized wyvern.
Knell takes primarily after his magic-giver, Dread. He is twenty feet long from head to tail, with an additional twenty feet of tail, standing on his front wing-limbs at a rough five and a half feet at the shoulder. His wingspan is roughly fifty feet long, as most of his length comes from his long, feathery tail and otherwise his shape is more compact compared to other notable dragons. He has dark, leathery skin saddled by black iridescent feathers that fade into a vibrant, striking orange toward his head and down his tail. Overall, he is shaped more like a wyvern than a chicken, with leathery wings that sport a growth of feathers only on the backside of the wings. He has two powerful legs with razor-sharp talons and long, vicious spurs that are as dark as obsidian. His head is crowned by a pair of ebony horns that point straight back, and trailing down his neck and spine are protrusions of spikes that trail all the way down to the base of his tail. Adorning the top of his head is a thin comb-like horn that allows him to vent heat out from the skin that covers it. Leading from this is a bright red mask of skin, with a thin slit from where a sharp ruby glares out. His face tapers into a dark, beak-like maw that sports a horn upon his snout. Along his chin, primarily toward his cheeks, three rows of spikes jut from his jaw. Lastly, his flint gemstone lays flat against the roof of his mouth, sometimes sparking with the flare of his fire magic. Personality
Knell is an intense creature, a caged beast finally let loose upon the world. He is one part cocky and one part draconian, leading to a terrible concoction of blazing ambition.
The world is his to claim, and he takes full pride in being apart of a long lineage of proud, powerful dragons. He holds the title as a son of Dread-- a dragon who he sees as ancient and all-powerful-- with a keen hunger, brandishing his position in the family as a weapon and a threat to anyone who might dare cross him. Ultimately, if one were to see through Knell's bluster for the truth at his core: he is a spoiled brat, a classic case of youngest-sibling syndrome despite the fact his inception was far enough back to make him twenty-seven cycles old by the time he hatched. Hatching late has put something of a chip on his shoulder: he has never known a childhood, not a proper one, through no-one's fault but his own failings. He would do anything to rise above his late blooming reputation, and strives to become notorious among the caves. When it comes to his family, the chicken-dragon hybrid is a squabbler at the worst of times, picking fights and arguments over petty things and sometimes, simply to have a reason to raise his voice. But the rest of the time, he is a loving and passionate family member, quick to defend their honor and offer support, even if he somewhat bumbles his way through personal matters. He has a soft-spot for his family, and knows that they would never abandon him... therefore, he will never abandon them. Like most dragons, Knell has a natural instinct to hoard and collect. He is territorial and vicious to those who slight him, and in general rather animalistic in his general behaviors. He is as easy to win over with gifts and platitudes as he is to insult and piss off, making him quite easy to manipulate by even strangers who can read him well enough. History
